¹以色列子民离开埃及国后，第三个月初一那一天，到了西乃旷野。	¹In the third month of the departure of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on this day they came into the wilderness of Sinai:
²他们从勒非丁起程，来到西乃旷野，就在旷野中安了营；以色列人在那座山前安了营。	²For departing out of Raphidim, and coming to the desert of Sinai, they camped in the same place, and there Israel pitched their tents over against the mountain.
³梅瑟上到天主前，上主从山上召唤他说：「你要这样告诉雅各伯家，训示以色列子民说：	³And Moses went up to God: and the Lord called unto him from the mountain, and said: Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
⁴你们亲自见了我怎样对待了埃及人，怎样好似鹰将你们背在翅膀上，将你们带出来归属我。	⁴You have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, how I have carried you upon the wings of eagles, and have taken you to myself.
⁵现在你们若真听我的话，遵守我的盟约，你们在万民中将成为我的特殊产业。的确，普世全属于我，	⁵If therefore you will hear my voice, and keep my covenant, you shall be my peculiar possession above all people: for all the earth is mine.
⁶但你们为我应成为司祭的国家，圣洁的国民。你应将这些话训示以色列子民。」	⁶And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation. Those are the words thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.
⁷梅瑟就去召集百姓的长老，将上主吩咐他的那一切话，都在他们前说明了。	⁷Moses came, and calling together the elders of the people, he declared all the words which the Lord had commanded.
⁸众百姓一致回答说：「凡上主所吩咐的，我们全要作。」梅瑟遂将百姓的答复转达于上主。	⁸And all the people answered together: All that the Lord hath spoken, we will do. And when Moses had related the people's words to the Lord,
⁹上主向梅瑟说：「我要在浓云中降到你前，叫百姓听见我与你谈话，使他们永远信服你。」梅瑟遂向上主呈报了百姓的答复。	⁹The Lord said to him: Lo, now will I come to thee in the darkness of a cloud, that the people may hear me speaking to thee, and may believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.
¹⁰上主向梅瑟说：「你到百姓那里，叫他们今天明天圣洁自己，洗净自己的衣服。	¹⁰And he said to him: Go to the people, and sanctify them today, and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments.
¹¹第三天都应准备妥当，因为第三天，上主要在百姓观望之下降到西乃山上。	¹¹And let them be ready against the third day: for on the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
¹²你要给百姓在山周围划定界限说：应小心，不可上山，也不可触摸山脚；凡触摸那山的，应处死刑。	¹²And thou shalt appoint certain limits to the people round about, and thou shalt say to them: Take heed you go not up into the mount, and that ye touch not the borders thereof: every one that toucheth the mount dying he shall die.
¹³谁也不可用手触摸那人，而应用石头砸死或用箭射死；不论是兽是人，都不得生存；号角响起的时候，他们才可上山。」	¹³No hands shall touch him, but he shall be stoned to death, or shall be shot through with arrows: whether it be beast, or man, he shall not live. When the trumpet shall begin to sound, then let them go up into the mount.
¹⁴梅瑟下山来到百姓那里，叫他们圣洁自己，洗净自己的衣服。	¹⁴And Moses came down from the mount to the people, and sanctified them. And when they had washed their garments,
¹⁵他向百姓说：「到第三天应准备妥当，不可接近女人。」	¹⁵He said to them: Be ready against the third day, and come not near your wives.
¹⁶到了第三天早晨，山上雷电交作，浓云密布，角声齐鸣，此时在营中的百姓都战战兢兢。	¹⁶And now the third day was come, and the morning appeared: and behold thunders began to be heard, and lightning to flash, and a very thick cloud to cover the mount, and the noise of the trumpet sounded exceeding loud, and the people that was in the camp, feared.
¹⁷梅瑟叫百姓从营中出来迎接天主，他们都站在山下。	¹⁷And when Moses had brought them forth to meet God from the place of the camp, they stood at the bottom of the mount.
¹⁸此时西乃全山冒烟，因为上主在火中降到山上；冒出的烟像火窑的烟，全山猛烈震动。	¹⁸And all mount Sinai was on a smoke: because the Lord was come down upon it in fire, and the smoke arose from it as out of a furnace: and all the mount was terrible.
¹⁹角声越响越高；梅瑟遂开始说话，天主藉雷霆答复他。	¹⁹And the sound of the trumpet grew by degrees louder and louder, and was drawn out to a greater length: Moses spoke, and God answered him.
²⁰上主降到西乃山顶上，召梅瑟上到山顶；梅瑟就上去了。	²⁰And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, in the very top of the mount, and he called Moses unto the top thereof. And when he was gone up thither,
²¹上主向梅瑟说：「下去通告百姓：不可闯到上主面前观看，免得许多人死亡。	²¹He said unto him: Go down, and charge the people: lest they should have a mind to pass the limits to see the Lord, and a very great multitude of them should perish.
²²连那些接近上主的司祭们，也应圣洁自己，免得上主击杀他们。」	²²The priests also that come to the Lord, let them be sanctified, lest he strike them.
²³梅瑟答复上主说：「百姓不能上西乃山，因你自己曾通告我们说：要在山的四周划定界限，也宣布这山是不可侵犯的。」	²³And Moses said to the Lord: The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou did charge, and command, saying: Set limits about the mount, and sanctify it.
²⁴上主向他说：「下去，你同亚郎一起上来，但司祭和百姓不可闯到上主前，免得我击杀他们。」	²⁴And the Lord said to him: Go, get thee down: and thou shalt come up, thou and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people pass the limits, nor come up to the Lord, lest he kill them.
²⁵梅瑟便下到百姓那里，通知了他们。	²⁵And Moses went down to the people and told them all.
