| 1亚巴郎带了妻子和他所有的一切，与罗特一同由埃及上来，往乃革布去。 | 1And Abram went up out of Egypt, he and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. |
| 2亚巴郎有许多牲畜和金银。 | 2And he was very rich in possession of gold and silver. |
| 3他由乃革布逐渐往贝特耳移动帐幕，到了先前他在贝特耳与哈依之间，支搭帐幕的地方， | 3And he returned by the way that he came, from the south to Bethel, to the place where before he had pitched his tent between Bethel and Hai: |
| 4亦即他先前筑了祭坛，呼求上主之名的地方。 | 4In the place of the altar which he had made before; and there he called upon the name of the Lord. |
| 5与亚巴郎同行的罗特，也有羊群、牛群和帐幕， | 5But Lot also, who was with Abram, had flocks of sheep, and herds of beasts, and tents. |
| 6那地方容不下他们住在一起，因为他们的产业太多，无法住在一起。 | 6Neither was the land able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, and they could not dwell together. |
| 7牧放亚巴郎牲畜的人与牧放罗特牲畜的人，时常发生口角，──当时客纳罕人和培黎齐人尚住在那里。 | 7Whereupon also there arose a strife between the herdsmen of Abram and of Lot. And at that time the Chanaanite and the Pherezite dwelled in that country. |
| 8亚巴郎遂对罗特说：「在我与你，我的牧人与你的牧人之间，请不要发生口角，因为我们是至亲。 | 8Abram therefore said to Lot: Let there be no quarrel, I beseech thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen: for we are brethren. |
| 9所有的地方不是都在你面前吗？请你与我分开。你若往左，我就往右；你若往右，我就往左。」 | 9Behold the whole land is before thee: depart from me I pray thee: if thou wilt go to the left hand, I will take the right: if thou choose the right hand, I will pass to the left. |
| 10罗特举目看见约但河整个平原，直到左哈尔一带全有水灌溉，──这是在上主消灭索多玛和哈摩辣以前的事，──有如上主的乐园，有如埃及地。 | 10And Lot, lifting up his eyes, saw all the country about the Jordan, which was watered throughout, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha, as the paradise of the Lord, and like Egypt as one comes to Segor. |
| 11罗特选了约但河的整个平原，遂向东方迁移；这样，他们就彼此分开了： | 11And Lot chose to himself the country about the Jordan, and he departed from the east: and they were separated one brother from the other. |
| 12亚巴郎住在客纳罕地；罗特住在平原的城市中，渐渐移动帐幕，直到索多玛。 | 12Abram dwelt in the land of Chanaan; and Lot abode in the towns that were about the Jordan, and dwelt in Sodom. |
| 13索多玛人在上主面前罪大恶极。 | 13And the men of Sodom were very wicked, and sinners before the face of the Lord, beyond measure. |
| 14罗特与亚巴郎分离以后，上主对亚巴郎说：「请你举起眼来，由你所在的地方，向东西南北观看； | 14And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him: Lift up thy eyes, and look from the place wherein thou now art, to the north and to the south, to the east and to the west. |
| 15凡你看见的地方，我都要永远赐给你和你的后裔。 | 15All the land which thou seest, I will give to thee, and to thy seed for ever. |
| 16我要使你的后裔有如地上的灰尘；如果人能数清地上的灰尘，也能数清你的后裔。 | 16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also. |
| 17你起来，纵横走遍这地，因为我要将这地赐给你。」 | 17Arise and walk through the land in the length, and in the breadth thereof: for I will give it to thee. |
| 18于是亚巴郎移动了帐幕，来到赫贝龙的玛默勒橡树区居住，在那里给上主筑了一座祭坛。 | 18So Abram removing his tent came and dwelt by the vale of Mambre, which is in Hebron: and he built there an altar to the Lord. |
