¹黄昏时，那两位使者来到了索多玛，罗特正坐在索多玛城门口，他一看见他们，就起身前去迎接，俯伏在地，	¹And the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of the city. And seeing them, he rose up and went to meet them: and worshipped prostrate to the ground,
²说：「请二位先生下到你们仆人家中住一夜，洗洗你们的脚；明天早起，再赶你们的路。」他们答说：「不，我们愿在街上过宿。」	²And said: I beseech you, my lords, turn in to the house of your servant, and lodge there: wash your feet, and in the morning you shall go on your way. And they said: No, but we will abide in the street.
³但因罗特极力邀请，他们才转身跟着进了他的家。罗特为他们备办了宴席，烤了无酵饼；他们就吃了。	³He pressed them very much to turn in unto him: and when they were come into his house, he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread and they ate:
⁴他们尚未就寝，合城的人，即索多玛男人，不论年轻年老的，没有例外，全都来围住他的家，	⁴But before they went to bed, the men of the city beset the house both young and old, all the people together.
⁵向罗特喊说：「今晚来到你这里的那两个男人在那里？给我们领出来，叫我们好认识他们。」	⁵And they called Lot, and said to him: Where are the men that came in to thee at night? bring them out hither that we may know them:
⁶罗特就出来，随手关上门，到门口见他们，	⁶Lot went out to them, and shut the door after him, and said:
⁷说：「我的弟兄们！请你们切不可作恶。	⁷Do not so, I beseech you, my brethren, do not commit this evil.
⁸看，我有两个女儿，尚未认识过男人，容我领出她们来，任凭你们对待她们；只是这两个男人，既然来到舍下，请你们不要对他们行事。」	⁸I have two daughters who as yet have not known man: I will bring them out to you, and abuse you them as it shall please you, so that you do no evil to these men, because they are come in under the shadow of my roof.
⁹他们反说：「滚开！」继而说：「来这里的这个外方人，居然做起判官来！现在我们待你比他们还要厉害。」他们遂用力向罗特冲去，一齐向前要打破那门。	⁹But they said: Get thee back thither. And again: Thou camest in, said they, as a, stranger, was it to be a judge? therefore we will afflict thee more than them. And they pressed very violently upon Lot: and they were even at the point of breaking open the doors.
¹⁰那两个人却伸出手来，将罗特拉进屋内，关上了门；	¹⁰And behold the men put out their hand, and drew in Lot unto them, and shut the door:
¹¹又使那些在屋门口的男人，无论大小都迷了眼，找不着门口。	¹¹And them that were without, they struck with blindness from the least to the greatest, so that they could not find the door.
¹²那两个人对罗特说：「你这里还有什么人？带你的女婿、儿女，以及城中你所有的人，离开这地方，	¹²And they said to Lot: Hast thou here any of thine? son in law, or sons, or daughters, all that are thine bring them out of this city:
¹³因为我们要毁灭这地方；由于在上主面前控告他们的声音实在大，所以上主派遣我们来毁灭这地方。」	¹³For we will destroy this place, because their cry is grown loud before the Lord, who hath sent us to destroy them.
¹⁴罗特遂出去，告诉要娶他女儿的两个女婿说：「起来，离开这地方，因为上主要毁灭这城！」但他的两个女婿却以为他在开玩笑。	¹⁴So Lot went out, and spoke to his sons in law that were to have his daughters, and said: Arise: get you out of this place, because the Lord will destroy this city. And he seemed to them to speak as it were in jest.
¹⁵天一亮，两位使者就催促罗特说：「起来，快领你的妻子和你这里的两个女儿逃走，免得你因这城的罪恶同遭灭亡。」	¹⁵And when it was morning, the angels pressed him, saying: Arise, take thy wife, and the two daughters which thou hast: lest thou also perish in the wickedness of the city.
¹⁶罗特仍迟延不走；但因为上主怜恤他，那两个人就拉着他的手，他妻子的和他两个女儿的手领出城外。	¹⁶And as he lingered, they took his hand, and the hand of his wife, and of his two daughters, because the Lord spared him.
¹⁷二人领他们到城外，其中一个说：「快快逃命，不要往后看，也不要在平原任何地方站住；该逃往山中，免得同遭灭亡。」	¹⁷And they brought him forth, and set him without the city: and there they spoke to him, saying: Save thy life: look not back, neither stay thou in all the country about: but save thyself in the mountain, lest thou be also consumed.
¹⁸罗特对他们说：「啊！不，我主！	¹⁸And Lot said to them: I beseech thee my Lord,
¹⁹你仆人既蒙你垂爱，又蒙你大显仁慈，得以保全我的性命；但是现在我不能逃往山中，怕遇见灾祸死去。	¹⁹Because thy servant hath found grace before thee, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewn to me, in saving my life, and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil seize me, and I die:
²⁰看这座城很近，容我逃往那里，那只是一座小城；请容我逃往那里；那不只是一座小城吗？在那里我可保全性命。」	²⁰There is this city here at hand, to which I may flee, it is a little one, and I shall be saved in it: is it not a little one, and my soul shall live?
²¹其中一个对他说：「好罢！连在这事上我也顾全你的脸面，我必不消灭你提及的这座城。	²¹And he said to him: Behold also in this, I have heard thy prayers, not to destroy the city for which thou hast spoken.
²²你赶快逃往那里，因为你不到那里，我不能行事。」为此那城称为左哈尔。	²²Make haste and be saved there, because I cannot do any thing till thou go in thither. Therefore the name of that city was called Segor.
²³罗特到了左哈尔时，太阳已升出地面；	²³The sun was risen upon the earth, and Lot entered into Segor.
²⁴上主遂使硫磺和火，从天上上主那里，降于索多玛和哈摩辣，	²⁴And the Lord rained upon Sodom and Gomorrha brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.
²⁵毁灭了这几座城市和整个平原，以及城中所有的居民和地上的草木。	²⁵And he destroyed these cities, and all the country about, all the inhabitants of the cities, and all things that spring from the earth.
²⁶罗特的妻子因回头观看，立即变为盐柱。	²⁶And his wife looking behind her, was turned into a statue of salt.
²⁷亚巴郎清晨起来，到了以前他立在上主面前的地方，	²⁷And Abraham got up early in the morning and in the place where he had stood before with the Lord,
²⁸向索多玛和哈摩辣，以及整个平原一带眺望，看见那地烟火上腾，有如烧窑一般。	²⁸He looked towards Sodom and Gomorrha, and the whole land of that country: and he saw the ashes rise up from the earth as the smoke of a furnace.
²⁹当天主毁灭平原诸城，消灭罗特所住的城市时，想起了亚巴郎，由灭亡中救了罗特。	²⁹Now when God destroyed the cities of that country, remembering Abraham, he delivered Lot out of the destruction of the cities wherein he had dwelt.
³⁰罗特因为怕住在左哈尔，便与他的两个女儿离开左哈尔，上了山住在那里；他和两个女儿同住在一个山洞里。	³⁰And Lot went up out of Segor, and abode in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, (for he was afraid to stay in Segor,) and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters with him.
³¹长女对幼女说：「我们的父亲已经老了，地上又没有男人依照世界上的礼俗来与我们亲近。	³¹And the elder said to the younger Our father is old, and there is no man left on the earth, to come in unto us after the manner of the whole earth.
³²来让我们用酒将父亲灌醉，与他同睡：这样我们可由父亲传生后代。」	³²Come, let us make him drunk with wine, and let us lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
³³那天夜里，她们就用酒将父亲灌醉；长女遂进去与父亲同睡；女儿几时卧下，几时起来，他都不知道。	³³And they made their father drink wine that night: and the elder went in and lay with her father: but he perceived not neither when his daughter lay down, nor when she rose up.
³⁴第二天，长女对幼女说：「看，昨夜我与父亲同睡了，今夜我们再用酒灌醉他，你好进去与他同睡，由我们的父亲传生后代。」	³⁴And the next day the elder said to the younger: Behold I lay last night with my father, let us make him drink wine also to night, and thou shalt lie with him, that we may save seed of our father.
³⁵那天夜里，她们又用酒将父亲灌醉，幼女遂进去与他同睡；女儿几时卧下，几时起来，他都不知道。	³⁵They made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in, and lay with him: and neither then did he perceive when she lay down, nor when she rose up.
³⁶这样，罗特的两个女儿都由父亲怀了孕。	³⁶So the two daughters of Lot were with child by their father.
³⁷长女生了一个儿子，给他起名叫摩阿布，是现今摩阿布人的始祖；	³⁷And the elder bore a son, and she called his name Moab: he is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
³⁸幼女也生了一个儿子，给他起名叫本阿米，是现今阿孟子民的始祖。	³⁸The younger also bore a son, and she called his name Ammon, that is, the son of my people: he is the father of the Ammonites unto this day.
