创世纪	Genesis
¹上主照所许的，眷顾了撒辣；上主对撒辣实践了他所说的话。	¹And the Lord visited Sara, as he had promised: and fulfilled what he had spoken.
²撒辣怀了孕，在天主所许的时期，给年老的亚巴郎生了一个儿子。	²And she conceived and bore a son in her old age, at the time that God had foretold her.
³亚巴郎为撒辣给他所生的儿子，起名叫依撒格。	³And Abraham called the name of his son, whom Sara bore him, Isaac.
⁴生后第八天，亚巴郎照天主所吩咐的给自己的儿子依撒格行了割损。	⁴And he circumcised him the eighth day, as God had commanded him,
⁵他儿子依撒格诞生时，亚巴郎正一百岁；	⁵When he was a hundred years old: for at this age of his father was Isaac born.
⁶为此撒辣说：「天主使我笑，凡听见的也要与我一同笑。」	⁶And Sara said: God hath made a laughter for me: whosoever shall hear of it will laugh with me.
⁷又说：「谁能告诉亚巴郎，撒辣要哺养儿子呢？可是我在他老年，却给他生了个儿子。」	⁷And again she said: Who would believe that Abraham should hear that Sara gave suck to a son, whom she bore to him in his old age.
⁸孩子渐渐长大，断了乳；在依撒格断乳的那天，亚巴郎摆了盛宴。	⁸And the child grew and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast on the day of his weaning.
⁹撒辣见那埃及女人哈加尔给亚巴郎生的儿子，戏笑自己的儿子依撒格，	⁹And when Sara had seen the son of Agar the Egyptian playing with Isaac her son, she said to Abraham:
¹⁰就对亚巴郎说：「你该赶走这婢女和她的儿子，因为这婢女的儿子不能和我的儿子依撒格一同承受家业。」	¹⁰Cast out this bondwoman, and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.
¹¹亚巴郎为了他这儿子的事很是苦恼。	¹¹Abraham took this grievously for his son.
¹²但天主对亚巴郎说：「你不必为这孩子和你的婢女苦恼；凡撒辣对你说的，你都可听从，因为只有藉依撒格你的名才能传后。	¹²And God said to him: Let it not seem grievous to thee for the boy, and for thy bondwoman: in all that Sara hath said to thee, hearken to her voice: for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
¹³至于这婢女的儿子，我也要使他成为一大民族，因为他也是你的孩子。」	¹³But I will make the son also of the bondwoman a great nation, because he is thy seed.
¹⁴第二天，亚巴郎清早起来，拿了饼和一皮囊水，交给哈加尔，放在她肩上，又将孩子交给她，打发她走了。她一路前行，在贝尔舍巴旷野迷失了路。	¹⁴So Abraham rose up in the morning, and taking bread and a bottle of water, put it upon her shoulder, and delivered the boy, and sent her away. And she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Bersabee.
¹⁵那时皮囊里的水已用尽，她把孩子丢在一堆小树下，	¹⁵And when the water in the bottle was spent, she cast the boy under one of the trees that were there.
¹⁶自己走开，在约离一箭之远的对面坐下，自言自语说：「我不忍见这孩子夭折。」就坐在对面放声大哭。	¹⁶And she went her way, and sat over against him a great way off as far as a bow can carry, for she said: I will not see the boy die: and sitting over against, she lifted up her voice and wept.
¹⁷天主听见孩子啼哭，天主的使者由天上呼唤哈加尔说：「哈加尔！你有什么事？不要害怕，因为天主已听见孩子在那里的哭声。	¹⁷And God heard the voice of the boy: and an angel of God called to Agar from heaven, saying: What art thou doing, Agar? fear not: for God hath heard the voice of the boy, from the place wherein he is.
¹⁸起来，去扶起孩子来，用手搀着他，因为我要使他成为一大民族。」	¹⁸Arise, take up the boy, and hold him by the hand: for I will make him a great nation.
¹⁹天主于是开了她的眼，她看见了一口水井，遂去将皮囊灌满了水，给孩子喝。	¹⁹And God opened her eyes: and she saw a well of water, and went and filled the bottle, and gave the boy to drink.
²⁰天主与孩子同在，他渐渐长大，住在旷野，成了个弓手。	²⁰And God was with him: and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became a young man, an archer.
²¹他住在帕兰旷野；他母亲由埃及地给他娶了一个妻子。	²¹And he dwelt in the wilderness of Pharan, and his mother took a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.
²²那时阿彼默肋客同他的司令非苛耳对亚巴郎说：「在你所作的一切事上，天主常与你同在。	²²At the same time Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army said to Abraham: God is with thee in all that thou dost.
²³现在你在这里要指著天主对我起誓：总不要亏待我和我的子子孙孙。我怎样厚待了你，你也要怎样厚待我和你寄居的地方。」	²³Swear therefore by God, that thou wilt not hurt me, nor my posterity, nor my stock: but according to the kindness that I have done to thee, thou shalt do to me, and to the land wherein thou hast lived a stranger.
²⁴亚巴郎回答说：「我愿起誓。」	²⁴And Abraham said: I will swear.
²⁵亚巴郎为了阿彼默肋客的仆人霸占了一口水井，就责斥阿彼默肋客。	²⁵And he reproved Abimelech for a well of water, which his servants had taken away by force.
²⁶阿彼默肋客回答说：「我不知道谁作了这事，你也没有通知我，我到今天才听说。」	²⁶And Abimelech answered: I knew not who did this thing: and thou didst not tell me, and I heard not of it till today.
²⁷亚巴郎遂把牛羊交给阿彼默肋客，二人互相立了约。	²⁷And Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech: and both of them made a league.
²⁸亚巴郎又将羊群中七只母羔羊，另放在一边。	²⁸And Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs of the flock.
²⁹阿彼默肋客问亚巴郎说：「将这七只母羔羊另放在一边，请问有什么意思？」	²⁹And Abimelech said to him: What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set apart?
³⁰他答说：「你要由我手中接受这七只母羔羊，作我挖了这口水井的凭据。」	³⁰But he said: Thou shalt take seven ewe lambs at my hand: that they may be a testimony for me, that I dug this well.
³¹因为他们二人在那里起了誓，为此那地方叫做贝尔舍巴。	³¹Therefore that place was called Bersabee: because there both of them did swear.
³²他们在贝尔舍巴立了约，阿彼默肋客同他的司令非苛耳起身回培肋舍特地去了。	³²And they made a league for the well of oath.
³³亚巴郎在贝尔舍巴栽了一株柽柳，在那里呼求了上主，永恒天主的名。	³³And Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army arose and returned to the land of the Palestines. But Abraham planted a grove in Bersabee, and there called upon the name of the Lord God eternal.
³⁴亚巴郎在培肋舍特人地内住了许久。	³⁴And he was a sojourner in the land of the Palestines many days.
