创世纪	Genesis
¹亚巴郎又续娶了一个妻子，名叫刻突辣。	¹And Abraham married another wife, named Cetura:
²刻突辣给他生了齐默郎、约刻商、默丹、米德杨、依市巴克和叔哈。	²Who bore him Zamran, and Jecsan, and Madan, and Madian, and Jesboc, and Sue.
³约刻商生了舍巴和德丹；德丹的子孙是阿叔陵人、肋突兴人和肋乌明人。	³Jecsan also begot Saba and Dadan. The children of Dadan were Assurim, and Latusim, and Loomin.
⁴米德杨的子孙是厄法、厄斐尔、哈诺客、阿彼达和厄耳达阿：以上都是刻突辣的子孙。	⁴But of Madian was born Epha, and Opher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaa: all these were the children of Cetura.
⁵亚巴郎将自己所有的财产都给了依撒格；	⁵And Abraham gave all his possessions to Isaac.
⁶至于妾所生的儿子，亚巴郎给了他们一些礼物，在自己活着时，就叫他们离开自己的儿子依撒格，打发他们向东去，住在东方。	⁶And to the children of the concubines he gave gifts, and separated them from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, to the east country.
⁷亚巴郎一生的岁月共是一百七十五岁。	⁷And the days of Abraham's life were a hundred and seventy-five years.
⁸亚巴郎寿高年老，已享天年，遂断气而死，归到他亲族那里去了。	⁸And decaying he died in a good old age, and having lived a long time, and being full of days: and was gathered to his people.
⁹他的儿子依撒格和依市玛耳，将他葬在面对玛默勒，赫特人祚哈尔之子厄斐龙的田间玛革培拉山洞内。	⁹And Isaac and Ismael his sons buried him in the double cave, which was situated in the field of Ephron the son of Seor the Hethite, over against Mambre;
¹⁰这块田地是亚巴郎由赫特人那里买来的；亚巴郎和妻子撒辣都葬在那里。	¹⁰Which he had bought of the children of Heth: there was he buried, and Sara his wife.
¹¹亚巴郎死后，天主祝福了他的儿子依撒格。依撒格定居在拉海洛依井附近。	¹¹And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.
¹²以下是撒辣的婢女，埃及人哈加尔给亚巴郎生的依市玛耳的后裔。	¹²These are the generations of Ismael the son of Abraham, whom Agar the Egyptian, Sara's servant, bore unto him:
¹³依市玛耳的子孙名单，依照出生的次第记载如下：依市玛耳的长子是乃巴约特，其次是刻达尔、阿德贝耳、米贝散、	¹³And these are the names of his children according to their calling and generations. The firstborn of Ismael was Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam.
¹⁴米市玛、杜玛、玛萨，	¹⁴And Masma, and Duma, and Massa,
¹⁵哈达得、特玛、耶突尔、纳菲士和刻德玛：	¹⁵Hadar, and Thema, and Jethur, and Naphis, and Cedma.
¹⁶以上都是依市玛耳的儿子，这些人的名字也是他们的村庄和营地的名字，又是十二家族的族长。	¹⁶These are the sons of Ismael: and these are their names by their castles and towns, twelve princes of their tribes.
¹⁷依市玛耳一生的岁月是一百三十七岁；然后断气而死，归到他亲族那里去了。	¹⁷And the years of Ismael's life were a hundred and thirty-seven, and decaying he died, and was gathered unto his people.
¹⁸他的子孙住在从哈威拉直到埃及东面的叔尔，往亚述道上，对着自己的众兄弟支搭帐幕。	¹⁸And he dwelt from Hevila as far as Sur, which looketh towards Egypt, to them that go towards the Assyrians. He died in the presence of all his brethren.
¹⁹以下是亚巴郎的儿子依撒格的历史：亚巴郎生依撒格。	¹⁹These also are the generations of Isaac the son of Abraham: Abraham begot Isaac:
²⁰依撒格四十岁时娶了帕丹阿兰地阿兰人贝突耳的女儿，阿兰人拉班的妹妹黎贝加为妻。	²⁰Who when he was forty years old, took to wife Rebecca the daughter of Bathuel the Syrian of Mesopotamia, sister to Laban.
²¹依撒格因为自己的妻子不生育，便为她恳求上主；上主俯允了他的祈求，他的妻子黎贝加遂怀了孕，	²¹And Isaac besought the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and he heard him, and made Rebecca to conceive.
²²双胎在她腹内互相冲突，于是她说：「若是这样，我可怎么办？」遂去求问上主。	²²But the children struggled in her womb: and she said: If it were to be so with me, what need was there to conceive? And she went to consult the Lord.
²³上主答复她说：「你一胎怀了两个国家，你腹中所生的要分为两个民族：一个民族强于另一民族，年长的要服事年幼的。」	²³And he answering said: Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be divided out of thy womb, and one people shall overcome the other, and the elder shall serve the younger.
²⁴到了生产的时候，她腹内果然是一对双生；	²⁴And when her time was come to be delivered, behold twins were found in her womb.
²⁵首先产出的发红，浑身是毛，如披毛裘，给他起名厄撒乌。	²⁵He that came forth first was red, and hairy like a skin: and his name was called Esau. Immediately the other coming forth, held his brother's foot in his hand, and therefore he was called Jacob.
²⁶他的弟弟随后出生，一手握著厄撒乌的脚跟，为此给他起名叫雅各伯。他们诞生时，依撒格已是六十岁的人。	²⁶Isaac was threescore years old when the children were born unto him.
²⁷两个孩童渐渐长大，厄撒乌成了个好打猎的人，喜居户外；雅各伯却为人恬静，深居幕内。	²⁷And when they were grown up, Esau became a skillful hunter, and a husbandman, but Jacob a plain man dwelt in tents.
²⁸依撒格爱厄撒乌，因为他爱吃野味；黎贝加却爱雅各伯。	²⁸Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his hunting: and Rebecca loved Jacob.
²⁹有一天、雅各伯正煮好豆羹，厄撒乌由田间回来，饥饿疲乏，	²⁹And Jacob boiled pottage: to whom Esau, coming faint out of the field,
³⁰便对雅各伯说：「请将这红红的东西给我点吃，因为我实在又饿又乏。」──因此他的名字又叫「厄东」。	³⁰Said: Give me of this red pottage, for I am exceeding faint. For which reason his name was called Edom.
³¹雅各伯回答说：「你要将你长子的名分先卖给我。」	³¹And Jacob said to him: Sell me thy first birthright.
³²厄撒乌说：「我快要死了，这长子的名分为我还有什么益处？」	³²He answered: Lo I die, what will the first birthright avail me?
³³雅各伯接着说：「你得立刻对我起誓。」厄撒乌遂对他起了誓，将自己长子的名分卖给了雅各伯。	³³Jacob said: Swear therefore to me. Esau swore to him, and sold his first birthright.
³⁴雅各伯遂将饼和扁豆羹给了厄撒乌；他吃了喝了，起身走了。──厄撒乌竟如此轻视了长子的名分。	³⁴And so taking bread and the pottage of lentils, he ate, and drank, and went his way; making little account of having sold his first birthright.
