创世纪	Genesis
¹这样，天地和天地间的一切点缀都完成了。	¹So the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the furniture of them.
²到第七天天主造物的工程已完成，就在第七天休息，停止了所作的一切工程。	²And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made: and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.
³天主祝福了第七天，定为圣日，因为这一天，天主停止了他所行的一切创造工作。	³And he blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
⁴这是创造天地的来历：在上主天主创造天地时，	⁴These are the generations of the heaven and the earth, when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the heaven and the earth:
⁵地上还没有灌木，田间也没有生出蔬菜，因为上主天主还没有使雨降在地上，也没有人耕种土地，	⁵And every plant of the field before it sprung up in the earth, and every herb of the ground before it grew: for the Lord God had not rained upon the earth; and there was not a man to till the earth.
⁶有从地下涌出的水浸润所有地面。	⁶But a spring rose out of the earth, watering all the surface of the earth.
⁷上主天主用地上的灰土形成了人，在他鼻孔内吹了一口生气，人就成了一个有灵的生物。	⁷And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth: and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
⁸上主天主在伊甸东部种植了一个乐园，就将他形成的人安置在里面。	⁸And the Lord God had planted a paradise of pleasure from the beginning: wherein he placed man whom he had formed.
⁹上主天主使地面生出各种好看好吃的果树，生命树和知善恶树在乐园中央。	⁹And the Lord God brought forth of the ground all manner of trees, fair to behold, and pleasant to eat of: the tree of life also in the midst of paradise: and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
¹⁰有一条河由伊甸流出灌溉乐园，由那里分为四支：	¹⁰And a river went out of the place of pleasure to water paradise, which from thence is divided into four heads.
¹¹第一支名叫丕雄，环流产金的哈威拉全境；	¹¹The name of the one is Phison: that is it which compasseth all the land of Hevilath, where gold groweth.
¹²那地方的金子很好，那里还产真珠和玛瑙；	¹²And the gold of that land is very good: there is found bdellium, and the onyx stone.
¹³第二支河名叫基红，环流雇士全境；	¹³And the name of the second river is Gehon: the same is it that compasseth all the land of Ethiopia.
¹⁴第三支河名叫底格里斯，流入亚述东部；第四支河即幼发拉的。	¹⁴And the name of the third river is Tigris: the same passeth along by the Assyrians. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
¹⁵上主天主将人安置在伊甸的乐园内，叫他耕种，看守乐园。	¹⁵And the Lord God took man, and put him into the paradise of pleasure, to dress it, and to keep it.
¹⁶上主天主给人下令说：「乐园中各树上的果子，你都可吃，	¹⁶And he commanded him, saying: Of every tree of paradise thou shalt eat:
¹⁷只有知善恶树上的果子你不可吃，因为那一天你吃了，必定要死。」	¹⁷But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. For in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death.
¹⁸上主天主说：「人单独不好，我要给他造个与他相称的助手。」	¹⁸And the Lord God said: It is not good for man to be alone: let us make him a help like unto himself.
¹⁹上主天主用尘土造了各种野兽和天空中的各种飞鸟，都引到人面前，看他怎样起名；凡人给生物起的名字，就成了那生物的名字。	¹⁹And the Lord God having formed out of the ground all the beasts of the earth, and all the fowls of the air, brought them to Adam to see what he would call them: for whatsoever Adam called any living creature the same is its name.
²⁰人遂给各种畜牲、天空中的各种飞鸟和各种野兽起了名字；但他没有找着一个与自己相称的助手。	²⁰And Adam called all the beasts by their names, and all the fowls of the air, and all the cattle of the field: but for Adam there was not found a helper like himself.
²¹上主天主遂使人熟睡，当他睡着了，就取出了他的一根肋骨，再用肉补满原处。	²¹Then the Lord God cast a deep sleep upon Adam: and when he was fast asleep, he took one of his ribs, and filled up flesh for it.
²²然后上主天主用那由人取来的肋骨，形成了一个女人，引她到人前，	²²And the Lord God built the rib which he took from Adam into a woman: and brought her to Adam.
²³人遂说：「这才真是我的骨中之骨，肉中之肉，她应称为『女人』，因为是由男人取出的。」	²³And Adam said: This now is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.
²⁴为此人应离开自己的父母，依附自己的妻子，二人成为一体。	²⁴Wherefore a man shall leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be two in one flesh.
²⁵当时，男女二人都赤身露体，并不害羞。	²⁵And they were both naked: to wit, Adam and his wife: and were not ashamed.
