¹亚当认识了自己的妻子厄娃，厄娃怀了孕，生了加音说：「我赖上主获得了一个人。」	¹And Adam knew Eve his wife: who conceived and brought forth Cain, saying: I have gotten a man through God.
²以后她生了加音的弟弟亚伯尔；亚伯尔牧羊，加音耕田。	²And again she brought forth his brother Abel. And Abel was a shepherd, and Cain a husbandman.
³有一天，加音把田地的出产作祭品献给天主；	³And it came to pass after many days, that Cain offered, of the fruits of the earth, gifts to the Lord.
⁴同时亚伯尔献上自己羊群中最肥美而又是首生的羊；上主惠顾了亚伯尔和他的祭品，	⁴Abel also offered of the firstlings of his flock, and of their fat: and the Lord had respect to Abel, and to his offerings.
⁵却没有惠顾加音和他的祭品；因此加音大怒，垂头丧气。	⁵But to Cain and his offerings he had no respect: and Cain was exceedingly angry, and his countenance fell.
⁶上主对加音说：「你为什么发怒？为什么垂头丧气？	⁶And the Lord said to him: Why art thou angry? and why is thy countenance fallen?
⁷你若做得好，岂不也可仰起头来？你若做得不好，罪恶就伏在你门前，企图对付你，但你应制服它。」	⁷If thou do well, shalt thou not receive? but if ill, shall not sin forthwith be present at the door? but the lust thereof shall be under thee, and thou shalt have dominion over it.
⁸事后加音对他弟弟亚伯尔说：「我们到田间去！」当他们在田间的时候，加音就袭击了弟弟亚伯尔，将他杀死。	⁸And Cain said to Abel his brother: Let us go forth abroad. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel, and slew him.
⁹上主对加音说：「你弟弟亚伯尔在那里？」他答说：「我不知道，难道我是看守我弟弟的人？」	⁹And the Lord said to Cain: Where is thy brother Abel? And he answered, I know not: am I my brother's keeper?
¹⁰上主说：「你作了什么事？听！你弟弟的血由地上向我喊冤。	¹⁰And he said to him: What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth to me from the earth.
¹¹你现在是地上所咒骂的人，地张开口由你手中接收了你弟弟的血，	¹¹Now, therefore, cursed shalt thou be upon the earth, which hath opened her mouth and received the blood of thy brother at thy hand.
¹²从此你即使耕种，地也不会给你出产；你在地上要成个流离失所的人。」	¹²When thou shalt till it, it shall not yield to thee its fruit: a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be upon the earth.
¹³加音对上主说：「我的罪罚太重，无法承担。	¹³And Cain said to the Lord: My iniquity is greater than that I may deserve pardon.
¹⁴看你今天将我由这地面上驱逐，我该躲避你的面，在地上成了个流离失所的人；那么凡遇见我的，必要杀我。」	¹⁴Behold thou dost cast me out this day from the face of the earth, and I shall be hidden from thy face, and I shall be a vagabond and a fugitive on the earth: every one, therefore, that findeth me, shall kill me.
¹⁵上主对他说：「决不这样，凡杀加音的人，一定要受七倍的罚。」上主遂给加音一个记号，以免遇见他的人击杀他。	¹⁵And the Lord said to him: No, it shall not be so: but whosoever shall kill Cain, shall be punished sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, that whosoever found him should not kill him.
¹⁶加音就离开上主的面，住在伊甸东方的诺得地方。	¹⁶And Cain went out from the face of the Lord, and dwelt as a fugitive on the earth, at the east side of Eden.
¹⁷加音认识了自己的妻子，她怀了孕，生了哈诺客。加音建筑了一座城，即以他儿子的名字，给这城起名叫「哈诺客」。	¹⁷And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and brought forth Henoch: and he built a city, and called the name thereof by the name of his son Henoch.
¹⁸哈诺客生了依辣得；依辣得生了默胡雅耳；默胡雅耳生了默突沙耳；默突沙耳生了拉默客。	¹⁸And Henoch begot Irad, and Irad begot Maviael, and Maviael begot Mathusael, and Mathusael begot Lamech:
¹⁹拉默客娶了两个妻子：一个名叫阿达，一个名叫漆拉。	¹⁹Who took two wives: the name of the one was Ada, and the name of the other Sella.
²⁰阿达生了雅巴耳，他是住在帐幕内畜牧者的始祖。	²⁰And Ada brought forth Jabel: who was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of herdsmen.
²¹他的弟弟名叫犹巴耳，他是所有弹琴吹箫者的始祖。	²¹And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of them that play upon the harp and the organs.
²²同时漆拉也生了突巴耳加音，他是制造各种铜铁器具的匠人。突巴耳加音有个姊妹名叫纳阿玛。	²²Sella also brought forth Tubalcain, who was a hammerer and artificer in every work of brass and iron. And the sister of Tubalcain was Noema.
²³拉默客对自己的妻子说：「阿达和漆拉倾听我的声音，拉默客的妻子，静聆我的言语：因我受伤，杀了一成年；因我受损，杀了一青年；	²³And Lamech said to his wives Ada and Sella: Hear my voice, ye wives of Lamech, hearken to my speech: for I have slain a man to the wounding of myself, and a stripling to my own bruising.
²⁴杀加音的受罚是七倍，杀拉默客的是七十七倍。」	²⁴Sevenfold vengeance shall be taken for Cain: but for Lamech seventy times sevenfold.
²⁵亚当又认识了自己的妻子，她生了个儿子，给他起名叫舍特说：「天主又赐给了我一个儿子，代替加音杀了的亚伯尔。」	²⁵Adam also knew his wife again: and she brought forth a son, and called his name Seth, saying: God hath given me another seed, for Abel whom Cain slew.
²⁶舍特也生了一个儿子，给他起名叫厄诺士。那时人才开始呼求上主的名。	²⁶But to Seth also was born a son, whom he called Enos; this man began to call upon the name of the Lord.
