| 1当人在地上开始繁殖，生养女儿时， | 1And after that men began to be multiplied upon the earth, and daughters were born to them, |
| 2天主的儿子见人的女儿美丽，就随意选取，作为妻子。 | 2The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took to themselves wives of all which they chose. |
| 3上主于是说：「因为人既属于血肉，我的神不能常在他内；他的寿数只可到一百二十岁。」 | 3And God said: My spirit shall not remain in man for ever, because he is flesh, and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. |
| 4当天主的儿子与人的儿女结合生子时，在地上已有一些巨人──以后也有──他们就是古代的英雄，著名的人物。 | 4Now giants were upon the earth in those days. For after the sons of God went in to the daughters of men, and they brought forth children, these are the mighty men of old, men of renown. |
| 5上主见人在地上的罪恶重大，人心天天所思念的无非是邪恶； | 5And God seeing that the wickedness of men was great on the earth, and that all the thought of their heart was bent upon evil at all times, |
| 6上主遂后悔在地上造了人，心中很是悲痛。 | 6It repented him that he had made man on the earth. And being touched inwardly with sorrow of heart, |
| 7上主于是说：「我要将我所造的人，连人带野兽、爬虫和天空的飞鸟，都由地面上消灭，因为我后悔造了他们。」 | 7He said: I will destroy man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth, from man even to beasts, from the creeping thing even to the fowls of the air, for it repenteth me that I have made them. |
| 8惟有诺厄在上主眼中蒙受恩爱。 | 8But Noe found grace before the Lord. |
| 9以下是诺厄的小史：诺厄是他同时代惟一正义齐全的人，常同天主往来。 | 9These are the generations of Noe: Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations, he walked with God. |
| 10他生了三个儿子：就是闪、含、和耶斐特。 | 10And he begot three sons, Sem, Cham, and Japheth. |
| 11大地已在天主面前败坏，到处充满了强暴。 | 11And the earth was corrupted before God, and was filled with iniquity. |
| 12天主见大地已败坏，因为凡有血肉的人，品行在地上全败坏了， | 12And when God had seen that the earth was corrupted (for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth,) |
| 13天主遂对诺厄说：「我已决定要结果一切有血肉的人，因为他们使大地充满了强暴，我要将他们由大地上消灭。 | 13He said to Noe: The end of all flesh is come before me, the earth is filled with iniquity through them, and I will destroy them with the earth. |
| 14你要用柏木造一只方舟，舟内建造一些舱房，内外都涂上沥青。 | 14Make thee an ark of timber planks: thou shalt make little rooms in the ark, and thou shalt pitch it within and without. |
| 15你要这样建造：方舟要有三百肘长，五十肘宽，三十肘高。 | 15And thus shalt thou make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits: the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. |
| 16方舟上层四面做上窗户，高一肘；门要安在侧面；方舟要分为上中下三层。 | 16Thou shalt make a window in the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish the top of it: and the door of the ark thou shalt set in the side: with lower, middle chambers, and third stories shalt thou make it. |
| 17看我要使洪水在地上氾滥，消灭天下一切有生气的血肉；凡地上所有的都要灭亡。 | 17Behold I will bring the waters of a great flood upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, under heaven. All things that are in the earth shall be consumed. |
| 18但我要与你立约，你以及你的儿子、妻子和儿媳，要与你一同进入方舟。 | 18And I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt enter into the ark, thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and the wives of thy sons with thee. |
| 19你要由一切有血肉的生物中，各带一对，即一公一母，进入方舟，与你一同生活； | 19And of every living creature of all flesh, thou shalt bring two of a sort into the ark, that they may live with thee: of the male sex, and the female. |
| 20各种飞鸟、各种牲畜、地上所有的各种爬虫，皆取一对同你进去，得以保存生命。 | 20Of fowls according to their kind, and of beasts in their kind, and of every thing that creepeth on the earth according to its kind; two of every sort shall go in with thee, that they may live. |
| 21此外，你还应带上各种吃用的食物，贮存起来，作你和他们的食物。」 | 21Thou shalt take unto thee of all food that may be eaten, and thou shalt lay it up with thee: and it shall be food for thee and them. |
| 22诺厄全照办了；天主怎样吩咐了他，他就怎样做了。 | 22And Noe did all things which God commanded him. |
