| 1七月二十一日，上主有话藉哈盖先知说： | 1In the four and twentieth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king, they began. |
| 2「请你对沙耳提耳的儿子犹大省长则鲁巴贝耳，和约匝达克的儿子大司祭耶叔亚以及遗民说： | 2And in the seventh month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of Aggeus the prophet, saying: |
| 3你们这些遗民中，凡见过这座殿宇在昔日的光荣之中的，你们现在看它怎样？在你们眼中，岂不是如没有一样？ | 3Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel the governor of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, and to the rest of the people, saying: |
| 4但是如今，则鲁巴贝耳，努力！──上主的断语。约匝达克的儿子大司祭耶叔亚，努力！境内全体民众，努力！──上主的断语。努力工作罢！因为我与你们同在──万军上主的断语。 | 4Who is left among you, that saw this house in its first glory? and how do you see it now? is it not in comparison to that as nothing in your eyes? |
| 5【这是我在你们出离埃及时，与你们订立的盟约：】我的神常存在你们中间，你们不要害怕。 | 5Yet now take courage, O Zorobabel, saith the Lord, and take courage, O Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, and take courage, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord of hosts: and perform (for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts) |
| 6因为万军的上主这样说：再过不久，我要震动天地海陆， | 6The word that I covenanted with you when you came out of the land of Egypt: and my spirit shall be in the midst of you: fear not. |
| 7震动万民，使万民的珍宝运来；我必使这殿宇充满荣耀──万军的上主说。 | 7For thus saith the Lord of hosts: Yet one little while, and I will move the heaven and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land. |
| 8银子是我的，金子也是我的──万军上主的断语。 | 8And I will move all nations: AND THE DESIRED OF ALL NATIONS SHALL COME: and I will fill this house with glory: saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 9这座后起的殿宇的光荣，比以前那座所享有的还要大──万军的上主说；在此地我要颁赐和平──万军上主的断语。」 | 9The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 10达理阿王二年九月二十四日，上主的话传给哈盖先知说： | 10Great shall be the glory of this last house more than of the first, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place I will give peace, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 11万军的上主这样说：请你去询问司祭们这件有关法律的事说： | 11In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius the king, the word of the Lord came to Aggeus the prophet, saying: |
| 12「如果有人用自己的衣襟携带了圣肉，然后又用自己的衣襟接触面饼，或汤，或酒，或油，或其他的食物，这些东西是否也成了圣的？」司祭们答说：「不。」 | 12Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests the law, saying: |
| 13哈盖又问说：「如果一个因接触尸体而陷于不洁的人，触摸了这些东西，是否这些东西也成了不洁的？」司祭们答说：「成了不洁的。」 | 13If a man carry sanctified flesh in the skirt of his garment, and touch with his skirt, bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat: shall it be sanctified? And the priests answered, and said: No. |
| 14于是哈盖答说：「这百姓就是这样，这民族在我面前就是这样──上主的断语；他们手中的一切工作都是这样；凡他们在这里所献的，都是不洁的。 | 14And Aggeus said: If one that is unclean by occasion of a soul touch any of all these things, shall it be defiled? And the priests answered, and said: It shall be defiled. |
| 15但是现在，从今日起回头想想：在上主的殿还没有石上垒石以前， | 15And Aggeus answered, and said: So is this people, and so is this nation before my face, saith the Lord, and so is all the work of their hands: and all that they have offered there, shall be defiled. |
| 16那时你们怎样？有人来收二十斗，却只有十斗；有人来到榨油池舀五十桶却只有二十桶。 | 16And now consider in your hearts, from this day and upward, before there was a stone laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord. |
| 17我以热风，以霉烂，以冰雹打击了你们手中的一切工作，而你们仍没有归向我──上主的断语。 | 17When you went to a heap of twenty bushels, and they became ten: and you went into the press, to press out fifty vessels, and they became twenty. |
| 18请你们由今日起，留心注意，即由九月二十四日，上主殿宇的奠基日起，请你们留心注意： | 18I struck you with a blasting wind, and all the works of your hand with the mildew and with hail, yet there was none among you that returned to me, saith the Lord. |
| 19仓房里不是还没有种子吗？葡萄树、无花果树、石榴树和橄榄树，不是还没有结果子吗？从今天起，我必要祝福你！」 | 19Set your hearts from this day, and henceforward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month: from the day that the foundations of the temple of the Lord were laid, and lay it up in your hearts. |
| 20同月二十四日，上主的话再传给哈盖说： | 20Is the seed as yet sprung up? or hath the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree as yet flourished? from this day I will bless you. |
| 21你要向犹大省长则鲁巴贝耳说：我要震动天地， | 21And the word of the Lord came a second time to Aggeus in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying: |
| 22推翻列国的宝座；我要毁灭异邦列国的势力，我要推翻战车和驾车的人，战马与骑士个个必倒在自己兄弟的刀下。 | 22Speak to Zorobabel the governor of Juda, saying: I will move both heaven and earth. |
| 23在那一天──万军上主的断语──沙耳提耳的儿子，我的仆人则鲁巴贝耳！我必提拔你──上主的断语──我必以你作印玺，因为我拣选了你──万军上主的断语。 | 23And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and will destroy the strength of the kingdom of the Gentiles: and I will overthrow the chariot, and him that rideth therein: and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. |
| 24 | 24In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, I will take thee, O Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, my servant, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a signet, for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts. |
