| 1当乌齐雅的孙子，约堂的儿子阿哈次为犹大王时，阿兰王勒斤和以色列王勒玛里雅的儿子培卡黑，上来攻打耶路撒冷，但是不能攻陷。 | 11And it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Joathan, the son of Ozias, king of Juda, that Basin king of Syria, and Phacee the son of Romelia king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem, to fight against it: but they could not prevail over it. |
| 2有人报告达味家说：「阿兰已经驻扎在厄弗辣因！」君王与人民都胆战心惊，有如风中摇动的树木。 | 22And they told the house of David, saying: Syria hath rested upon Ephraim, and his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the woods are moved with the wind. |
| 3上主对依撒意亚说：「你和你的儿子舍阿尔雅叔布出去，到上池的水沟尽头，即漂工田间的大道上，去会见阿哈次； | 33And the Lord said to Isaias: Go forth to meet Achaz, thou and Jasub thy son that is left, to the conduit of the upper pool, a in the way of the fuller's held. |
| 4对他说：你必须审慎，保持镇定，不必畏惧，不要因那两个冒烟的火把头──即勒斤、阿兰和勒玛里雅之子──的怒火而胆怯。 | 44And thou shalt say to him: See thou be quiet: fear not, and let not thy heart be afraid of the two tails of these fire brands, smoking with the wrath of the fury of Rasin king of Syria, and of the son of Romelia. |
| 5虽然阿兰、厄弗辣因和勒玛里雅的儿子同谋，迫害你说： | 55Because Syria hath taken counsel against thee, unto the evil of Ephraim and the son of Romelia, saying: |
| 6我们上犹大去，扰乱她，把她占领过来归于我们，并在那里立塔贝耳的儿子为王； | 66Let us go up to Juda, and rouse it up, and draw it away to us, and make the son of Tabeel king in the midst thereof. |
| 7但是吾主上主却这样说：这事决不能成立，亦不能发生！ | 77Thus saith the Lord God: It shall not stand, and this shall not be. |
| 8因为阿兰的首都是大马士革，大马士革的首领是勒斤； | 88But the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Basin: and within threescore and five years, Ephraim shall cease to be a people: |
| 9厄弗辣因的首都是撒玛黎雅，撒玛黎雅的首领是勒玛里雅的儿子。 | 99And the head of Ephraim is Samaria and the head of Samaria the son of Romelia. If you will not believe, you shall not continue. |
| 8【六年或五年以后，阿兰将被消灭，厄弗辣因将要衰败。】 | 1010And the Lord spoke again to Achaz, saying: |
| 9假使你们不肯相信，你们必然不能存立。」 | 1111Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God either unto the depth of hell, or unto the height above. |
| 10上主又对阿哈次说： | 1212And Achaz said: I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord. |
| 11「你向上主你的天主要求一个征兆罢！或求诸阴府深处，或求诸上天高处。」 | 1313And he said: Hear ye therefore, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also? |
| 12阿哈次回答说：「我不要求，我不愿试探上主。」 | 1414Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel. |
| 13依撒意亚说：「达味的家族，你们听着罢！你们使人厌恶还不够，还要使我的天主厌恶吗？ | 1515He shall eat butter and honey, that he may know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good. |
| 14因此，吾主要亲自给你们一个征兆：看，有位贞女要怀孕生子，给他起名叫厄玛奴耳。 | 1616For before the child know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good, the land which thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of the face of her two kings. |
| 15到他知道弃恶择善的时候，要吃乳酪和蜂蜜； | 1717The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon the house of thy father, days that have not come since the time of the separation of Ephraim from Juda with the king of the Assyrians. |
| 16因为在这孩子尚未知道弃恶择善以前，你在那两个君王面前所担心的国土，必将荒废。 | 1818And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly, that is in the uttermost parts of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. |
| 17上主必使患难的日子临于你、你的百姓和你的父家身上；这是从厄弗辣因叛离犹大那一天所未有过的，【即亚述王加祸的日子】。 | 1919And they shall come, and shall all of them rest in the torrents of the valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all places set with shrubs, and in all hollow places. |
| 18那一日，上主要唤来埃及大河尽头的蝇和亚述境内的蜂， | 2020In that day the Lord shall shave with a razor that is hired by them that are beyond the river, by the king of the Assyrians, the head and the hairs of the feet, and the whole beard. |
| 19牠们将要前来，一起落在荒谷、巖穴，以及一切荆棘丛中和一切水沟上。 | 2121And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep. |
| 20那一日，吾主要用由大河那边借来的剃刀【即亚述王】剃去你的头发和耻毛，连胡须也要刮掉。 | 2222And for the abundance of milk he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that shall be left in the midst of the land. |
| 21到那一日，人仅能喂养一只牛犊和两只母山羊， | 2323And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place where there were a thousand vines, at a thousand pieces of silver, shall become thorns and briers. |
| 22因为出奶很多，人将以乳酪为食，因而境内所有的遗民，都将以乳酪和蜂蜜为食。 | 2424With arrows and with bows they shall go in thither: for briars and thorns shall be in all the land. |
| 23到那一日，先前所有种植一千棵葡萄，值一千块银子的地方，必将丛生荆棘和蒺藜。 | 2525And as for all the hills that shall be raked with a rake, the fear of thorns and briers shall not come thither, but they shall be for the ox to feed on, and the lesser cattle to tread upon. |
| 24人往那里去，必须携带弓箭，因为遍地都是荆棘和蒺藜。 | 26 |
| 25先前用锄头开垦的山地，没有人敢到那里，因为害怕荆棘蒺藜。那里将成为放牛和羊群践踏的地区。 | 27 |
