| 1犹大王约史雅的儿子约雅金为王时，上主有话传给耶肋米亚说： | 1The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord in the days of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying: |
| 2「你到勒加布人家里去，与他们会谈，引他们走进上主殿宇的一间房里，给他们酒喝。」 | 2Go to the house of the Rechabites: and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers of the treasures, and thou shalt give them wine to drink. |
| 3于是我带了哈巴漆尼雅的孙子，依尔米雅的儿子雅匝尼雅，和他的兄弟与他所有的儿子，以及勒加布全家， | 3And I took Jezonias the son of Jeremias the son of Habsanias, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites. |
| 4到了上主的殿宇，进了天主的人依革达里雅的儿子哈南的儿子们的房间──这间房靠近长官室，正是在看守殿门的沙隆的儿子玛阿色雅的住房上面， | 4And I brought them into the house of the Lord, to the treasure house of the sons of Hanan, the son of Jegedelias the man of God, which was by the treasure house of the princes, above the treasure of Maasias the son of Sellum, who was keeper of the entry. |
| 5将满杯满爵的酒，摆在勒加布的子孙面前，向他们请说：「请喝酒罢！」 | 5And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups: and I said to them: Drink ye wine. |
| 6他们答说：「我们不喝酒，因为我们的祖先勒加布的儿子约纳达布曾吩咐我们说：你们和你们的儿子永不可喝酒； | 6And they answered: We will not drink wine: because Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying: You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your children, for ever: |
| 7也不可建造房屋，不可播种，不可栽植或占有葡萄园，却要终生住在帐幕里，好使你们能长久生活在你们作客的地方。 | 7Neither shall ye build houses, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyards, nor have any: but you shall dwell in tents all your days, that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are strangers. |
| 8在我们的祖先勒加布的儿子约纳达布吩咐我们的一切事上，我们全听从了他的话，我们、妻子和儿女，终生不喝酒， | 8Therefore we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all things that he commanded us: so as to drink no wine all our days: neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters: |
| 9也不建造房屋居住，也没有葡萄园或田地和播种的事， | 9Nor to build houses to dwell in, nor to have vineyard, or field, or seed: |
| 10只住在帐幕里，全听从并履行我们的祖先约纳达布吩咐的事。 | 10But we have dwelt in tents, and have been obedient according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. |
| 11只在巴比伦王拿步高上来进攻这地时，我们才说：走罢！到耶路撒冷去，躲避加色丁和阿兰军队；从此我们才住在耶路撒冷。」 | 11But when Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came up to our land, we said: Come, let us go into Jerusalem from the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and from the face of the army of Syria: and we have remained in Jerusalem. |
| 12于是有上主的话传给耶肋米亚说： | 12And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying: |
| 13「万军的上主，以色列的天主这样说：你去对犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民说：你们不接受教训，听从我的话吗？──上主的断语── | 13Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not receive instruction, to obey my words, saith the Lord? |
| 14勒加布的儿子约纳达布的话居然有人遵守：他命子孙们不喝酒，他们直到今日就不喝酒，全听从了他们祖先的命令；我不断恳切教训你们，你们却没有听从； | 14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, by which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have prevailed: and they have drunk none to this day, because they have obeyed the commandment of their father: but I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not obeyed me. |
| 15我给你们派遣──且不断派遣，我所有的仆人先知们，来劝你们各自离弃自己的邪道，改善自己的行为，不再追随事奉外方的神祇，好能住在我赐给你们和你们祖先的地方；你们仍不侧耳听从我。 | 15And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending and saying: Return ye every man from his wicked way, and make your ways good: and follow not strange gods, nor worship them, and you shall dwell in the land, which I gave you and your fathers: and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me. |
| 16实在，勒加布的儿子约纳达布的子孙，遵守了他们祖先吩咐的命令；至于这民族，却不听从我。 | 16So the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have constantly kept the commandment of their father, which he commanded them: but this people hath not obeyed me. |
| 17为此，上主万军的天主，以色列的天主这样说：看，我必给犹大和耶路撒冷所有的居民，招来我对他们所预告的一切灾祸，因为我训谕他们，他们不听；我呼唤他们，他们不答应。」 | 17Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will bring upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them, and they have not heard: I have called to them, and they have not answered me. |
| 18于是耶肋米亚对勒加布人家族说：「万军的上主，以色列的天主这样说：因为你们听从了祖先约纳达布的命令，遵守了他的一切规诫，完全依照他所吩咐的做了； | 18And Jeremias said to the house of the Rechabites: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he commanded you: |
| 19为此，万军的上主，以色列的天主这样说：勒加布的儿子约纳达布从此永不会缺少侍立在我面前的人。」 | 19Therefore thus saith the Lord of host the God of Israel: There shall not be wanting a man of the race of Jonadab the son of Rechab, standing before me for ever. |
