| 1试问：若男人离弃了自己的妻子，她离开他而另嫁了别人，前夫岂能再回到她那里去？像这样的女人，岂不是已全被玷污了吗？你已与许多爱人行淫，你还想回到我这里来吗？──上主的断语── | 1It is commonly said: If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and marry another man, shall he return to her any more? shall not that woman be polluted, and defiled? but thou hast prostituted thyself to many lovers: nevertheless return to me, saith the Lord, and I will receive thee. |
| 2你举目环顾高丘，看看在甚么地方你没有受过玷污？你坐在各路旁等候他们，像个在旷野里的阿剌伯人，以你淫乱和邪恶玷污了这土地。 | 2Lift up thy eyes on high: and see where thou hast not prostituted thyself: Thou didst sit in the ways, waiting for them as a robber in the wilderness: and thou hast polluted the land with thy fornications, and with thy wickedness. |
| 3为此，秋雨不降，春雨不来。你具有娼妓的面孔，仍然不知羞耻。 | 3Therefore the showers were withholden, and there was no lateward rain: thou hadst a harlot's forehead, thou wouldst not blush. |
| 4从今以后，你要向我喊说：「我父，你是我青年时的良友！」 | 4Therefore at least at this time call to me: Thou art my father, the guide of my virginity: |
| 5心想：「他岂能永远发怒，怀恨到底？」看，你虽如此说，却仍尽力作恶。 | 5Wilt thou be angry for ever, or wilt thou continue until the end? Behold, thou hast spoken, and hast done evil things, and hast been able. |
| 6在约史雅为王的时日里，上主对我说：「失节的以色列所做的，你看见了没有？她上到一切高山上，走到所有的绿树下，在那里行淫。 | 6And the Lord said to me in the days of king Josias: Hast thou seen what rebellious Israel hast done? she hath gone out of herself upon every high mountain, and under every green tree, and hath played the harlot there. |
| 7我以为她作了这一切以后，会回到我这里来；但是她没有回来。她失信的姊妹犹大也看见了此事： | 7And when she had done all these things, I said: Return to me, and she did not return. And her treacherous sister Juda saw, |
| 8虽然看见了我为了失节的以色列所犯的种种奸淫，而命她离去，给了她休书，她这失信的姊妹犹大却不害怕，竟然也去行淫。 | 8That because the rebellious Israel had played the harlot, I had put her away, and had given her a bill of divorce: yet her treacherous sister Juda was not afraid, but went and played the harlot also herself. |
| 9由于她轻易行淫，与石碣和木偶淫乱，玷污了这土地。 | 9And by the facility of her fornication she defiled the land, and played the harlot with stones and with stocks. |
| 10尽管这样，她失信的姊妹犹大回到我这里来，仍不是全心，只是假意──上主的断语。」 | 10And after all this, her treacherous sister Juda hath not returned to me with her whole heart, but with falsehood, saith the Lord. |
| 11上主于是对我说：「失节的以色列比失信的犹大，更显得正义。 | 11And the Lord said to me: The rebellious Israel hath justified her soul, in comparison of the treacherous Juda. |
| 12你去向北方宣布这些话说：失节的以色列！请你归来──上主的断语──我不会对你怒容相向，因为我是仁慈的──上主的断语──我不会永远发怒， | 12Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and thou shalt say: Return, O rebellious Israel, saith the Lord, and I will not turn away my face from you: for I am holy, saith the Lord, and I will not be angry for ever. |
| 13只要你承认你的罪过，承认背叛了上主你的天主，在一切绿树下，与异邦神祇恣意相爱，没有听我的声音，上主的断语。 | 13But yet acknowledge thy iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God: and thou hast scattered thy ways to strangers under every green tree, and hast not heard my voice, saith the Lord. |
| 14失节的子女，你们归来──上主的断语──因为我是你们的主人，我要选取你们，每城选一人，每族选二人，领你们进入熙雍； | 14Return, O ye revolting children, saith the Lord: for I am your husband: and I will take you, one of a city, and two of a kindred, and will bring you into Sion. |
| 15在那里给你们一些随我心意的牧者，以智慧和明智牧养你们。 | 15And I will give you pastors according to my own heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and doctrine. |
| 16你们在这地上繁衍增殖的时日里──上主的断语──人不再提『上主的约柜』，也不再思念，不再追忆，不再关怀，不再制造。 | 16And when you shall be multiplied, and increase in the land in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more: The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come upon the heart, neither shall they remember it, neither shall it be visited, neither shall that be done any more. |
| 17那时，人要称耶路撒冷为『上主的御座』，万民要奉上主的名，汇集在耶路撒冷，不再随从自己邪恶而顽固的心行事。 | 17At that time Jerusalem shall be called the thrown of the Lord: and all the nations shall be gathered together to it, in the name of the Lord to Jerusalem, and they shall not walk after the perversity of their most wicked heart. |
| 18在那些时日内，犹大家与以色列家同行，从北方一起回到我赐给了你们祖先作基业的地内。 | 18In those days the house of Juda shall go to the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land which I gave to your fathers. |
| 19我曾想过：多么愿意待你像一个儿子，赐给你赏心悦目的土地，列国中最美好的领土，我以为你会以『我父』称呼我，不会转身远离我； | 19But I said: How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a lovely land, the goodly inheritance of the armies of the Gentiles? And I said: Thou shalt call me father and shalt cease to walk after me. |
| 20但是，你们，以色列家对待我，正如对自己良友不忠的妇女──上主的断语。 | 20But as a woman that despiseth her lover, so hath the house of Israel despised me, saith the Lord. |
| 21在荒丘上可听到一片喧嚷：那是以色列子民的哀号哭泣，因为他们走入了邪途，忘却了自己的天主，上主。 | 21A voice was heard in the highways, weeping and howling of the children of Israel: because they have made their way wicked, they have forgotten the Lord their God. |
| 22『归来！失节的子民，让我疗愈你们的失节。』『看，我们回到你这里，的确，你是上主，我们的天主。 | 22Return, you rebellious children, and I will heal your rebellions. Behold we come to thee: for thou art the Lord our God. |
| 23诚然，丘岭和山上的狂欢尽是虚幻；惟在上主，我们的天主那里，有以色列的救援。 | 23In very deed the hills were liars. and the multitude of the mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel. |
| 24可耻的神祇，自我们幼年就吞噬了我们祖先的收入，他们的羊群、牛群和子女。 | 24Confusion hath devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. |
| 25让我们躺卧在我们耻辱中，让我们以羞愧遮盖我们，因为我们和我们的祖先，自我们幼年直到今日，得罪了上主我们的天主，从来没有听从上主我们的天主的声音。』」 | 25We shall sleep in our confusion, and our shame shall cover us, because we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers from our youth even to this day, and we have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord our God. |
