| 1谁能在旷野给我找一个旅栈，叫我好离开我的人民，离他们而远去？因为他们都是些淫乱之徒，是一群反叛； | 1Who will give water to my head, and a fountain of tears to my eyes? and I will weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people. |
| 2他们弯起像弓的舌头，使在地上得势的，是虚伪而不是诚实，因为他们变本加厉作恶，全不理睬我──上主的断语。 | 2Who will give me in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, and I will leave my people, and depart from them? because they are all adulterers, an assembly of transgressors. |
| 3你们应各自提防自己的近人，不要信任何弟兄，因为所有的弟兄都爱好欺诈，一般的近人都好说谗言； | 3And they have bent their tongue, as a bow, for lies, and not for truth: they have strengthened themselves upon the earth, for they have proceeded from evil to evil, and me they have not known, saith the Lord. |
| 4人都欺骗自己的近人，不讲实话，使自己的舌头惯于说谎，竭力行恶， | 4Let every man take heed of his neighbour, and let him not trust in any brother of his: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every friend will walk deceitfully. |
| 5不愿悔悟，却强暴上又加强暴，欺诈上又加欺诈，全不理睬我──上主的断语。 | 5And a man shall mock his brother, and they will not speak the truth: for they have taught their tongue to speak lies: they have laboured to commit iniquity. |
| 6为此万军的上主这样说：「看，我要将他们净化，提炼；否则，我将怎样处理我的女儿──人民──的邪恶？ | 6Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit: Through deceit they have refused to know me, saith the Lord. |
| 7他们的舌头像根毒箭，好出诈言； 嘴上对邻友说话温和，心中却设计陷害。 | 7Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold I will melt, and try them: for what else shall I do before the daughter of my people? |
| 8为这些事我岂能不惩罚？──上主的断语──像这样的一个民族，我岂能不图报复？ | 8Their tongue is a piercing arrow, it hath spoken deceit: with his mouth one speaketh peace with his friend, and secretly he lieth in wait for him. |
| 9我要为群山号咷痛哭，为原野高唱哀歌，因为全都被焚毁，再没有人往来，再听不到牲畜的声音；自天空的飞鸟至地上的走兽，都逃去无踪。 | 9Shall I not visit them for these things, saith the Lord? or shall not my soul be revenged on such a nation? |
| 10我要使耶路撒冷成为废墟，成为豺狼的巢穴；使犹大的城市荒凉，无人居住。 | 10For the mountains I will take up weeping and lamentation, and for the beautiful places of the desert, mourning: because they are burnt up, for that there is not a man that passeth through them: and they have not heard the voice of the owner: from the fowl of the air to the beasts they are gone away and departed. |
| 11谁够聪明，能明白这事？上主亲口吩咐谁公布这事？「为什么这地遭受毁灭，荒芜得有如无人经过的旷野？」 | 11And I will make Jerusalem to be heaps of sand, and dens of dragons: and I will make the cities of Juda desolate, for want of an inhabitant. |
| 12上主说：「因为他们离弃了我给他们立定的法律，没有听从我的声音，没有按照法律而行； | 12Who is the wise man, that may understand this, and to whom the word of the mouth of the Lord may come that he may declare this, why the land hath perished, and is burnt up like a wilderness, which none passeth through? |
| 13反去顺从自己顽固的心，追随祖先教给他们的巴耳神。 | 13And the Lord said: Because they have forsaken my law, which I gave them, and have not heard my voice, and have not walked in it. |
| 14为此万军的上主，以色列的天主这样说：看，我必使这人民吃毒艾，饮毒水； | 14But they have gone after the perverseness of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them. |
| 15使他们流离到他们和他们祖先素不相识的民族中；派刀剑追击他们，直至将他们完全消灭。」 | 15Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will feed this people with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. |
| 16万军的上主这样说：「你们应该明白，快召哀悼的妇女来，派人去叫擅长哭泣的女人来， | 16And I will scatter them among the nations, which they and their fathers have not known: and I will send the sword after them till they be consumed. |
| 17叫她们迅速前来，对我们啼哭，使我们的眼睛流下眼泪，使我们的睫毛涌出泪水， | 17Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, and let them come: and send to them that are wise women, and let them make haste: |
| 18因为从熙雍那里可以听到哭声：我们怎样崩溃了，受了多大的耻辱！竟要离开本国，抛弃我们的家园！ | 18Let them hasten and take up a lamentation for us: let our eyes shed tears, and our eyelids run down with waters. |
| 19你们妇女！都应听清上主的话，亲耳聆听他口授的言词；教你们的女儿痛哭，彼此互相学唱哀歌： | 19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Sion: How are we wasted and greatly confounded? because we have left the land, because our dwellings are cast down. |
| 20因为死亡已从我们的窗户爬进来，进入了我们的宫殿，歼灭了街上的孩童，和广场上的青年。 | 20Hear therefore, ye women, the word of the Lord: and let your ears receive the word of his mouth: and teach your daughters wailing: and every one her neighbour mourning. |
| 21你应这样说──上主的断语──人的尸体僵卧着，好像在田野里的粪堆；又像遗留在收割者后面无人拾取的麦束。」 | 21For death is come up through our windows, it is entered into our houses to destroy the children from without, the young men from the streets. |
| 22上主这样说：智者不应夸耀自己的智慧，力士不应夸耀自己的力量，富人不应夸耀自己的财富。 | 22Speak: Thus saith the Lord: Even the carcass of man shall fall as dung upon the face of the country, and as grass behind the back of the mower, and there is none to gather it. |
| 23凡要夸耀的，只应在「知道和认识我」这件事上夸耀，因为在地上是我，上主，施行仁慈、公道和正义，因为我喜爱这些事──上主的断语。 | 23Thus saith the Lord: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, and let not the strong man glory in his strength, and let not the rich man glory in his riches: |
| 24看时日将到──上主的断语──我要惩罚所有受过割损而仍存有包皮的人： | 24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, for I am the Lord that exercise mercy, and judgment, and justice in the earth: for these things please me, saith the Lord. |
| 25即埃及、犹大、厄东、阿孟子民，摩阿布和所有住在旷野剃除鬓发的人，因为这一切民族都未受过割损，至于以色列全家却是未受过内心的割损。 | 25Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, and I will visit upon every one that hath the foreskin circumcised. |
| 26 | 26Upon Egypt, and upon Juda, and upon Edom, and upon the children of Ammon, and upon Moab, and upon all that have their hair polled round, that dwell in the desert: for all the nations are uncircumcised in the flesh, but all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart. |
