约伯传	Job
¹约伯回答说：	¹Then Job answered, and said:
²你们且听一听我的话！这也算是你们给我的安慰。	²Hear, I beseech you, my words, and do penance.
³请让我发言，我说完后，任你们笑骂。	³Suffer me, and I will speak, and after, if you please, laugh at my words.
⁴我岂是抱怨人？我失了忍耐，难道没有理由？	⁴Is my debate against man, that I should not have just reason to be troubled?
⁵你们注意听我，必要吃惊，且要用手堵住口。	⁵Hearken to me and be astonished, and lay your finger on your mouth.
⁶甚至我一回想，我就恐怖，全身战栗。	⁶As for me, when I remember, I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
⁷恶人为何享受高寿而势力强大？	⁷Why then do the wicked live, are they advanced, and strengthened with riches?
⁸他们在世时，子孙昌盛，亲眼看见子子孙孙。	⁸Their seed continueth before them, a multitude of kinsmen, and of children's children in their sight.
⁹他们的住宅平安，无所畏惧，天主的棍杖也不加在他们身上。	⁹Their houses are secure and peaceable, and the rod of God is not upon them.
¹⁰他们的公牛交尾，无不成功；母牛产子，决无流产。	¹⁰Their cattle have conceived, and failed not: their cow has calved, and is not deprived of her fruit.
¹¹他们使孩子跑出像羊群，子女跳跃如麋鹿。	¹¹Their little ones go out like a flock, and their children dance and play.
¹²他们伴着手鼓与竖琴歌唱，随着笛声欢呼。	¹²They take the timbrel, and the harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
¹³他们幸福地度过天年，平安地降入阴府。	¹³They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment they go down to hell.
¹⁴但他们曾向天主说：「离开我们！我们不愿知道你的道路。	¹⁴Who have said to God: Depart from us, we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
¹⁵全能者是谁，竟叫我们事奉他？我们祈求他有什么好处？」	¹⁵Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what doth it profit us if we pray to him?
¹⁶看啊！他们的幸福，岂不在他们掌握中？恶人的思想岂不离他很远？	¹⁶Yet because their good things are not in their hand, may the counsel of the wicked be far from me.
¹⁷恶人的灯有多少次熄灭过？灾祸有多少次降在他们身上？天主何尝因忿怒而消灭他们？	¹⁷How often shall the lamp of the wicked be put out, and a deluge come upon them, and he shall distribute the sorrows of his wrath?
¹⁸使他们像被风吹的碎稭？好像被暴风卷去的糠粃？	¹⁸They shall be as chaff before the face of the wind, and as ashes which the whirlwind scattereth.
¹⁹难道天主要向他的儿子讨罪债？其实应向他本人报复，叫他觉悟！	¹⁹God shall lay up the sorrow of the father for his children: and when he shall repay, then shall he know.
²⁰叫他亲眼看见自己的毁灭，亲自饮下全能者的义怒之杯。	²⁰His eyes shall see his own destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
²¹他既逝去，他本人的岁月已绝，他的家庭对他还有什么相干？	²¹For what is it to him what befalleth his house after him: and if the number of his months be diminished by one half?
²²天主既审判天上者，人岂能教给他什么智识？	²²Shall any one teach God knowledge, who judgeth those that are high?
²³有人到死一无所缺，享尽了平安幸福。	²³One man dieth strong, and hale, rich and happy.
²⁴他的腰部充满脂肪，他的骨髓润泽丰盈；	²⁴His bowels are full of fat, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
²⁵但有人却至死心灵酸苦，一生毫无福乐；	²⁵But another dieth in bitterness of soul without any riches:
²⁶他们却一同埋于尘土，为蛆虫所掩盖。	²⁶And yet they shall sleep together in the dust, and worms shall cover them.
²⁷我确知你们的思想，以及对我所筹划的阴谋。	²⁷Surely I know your thoughts, and your unjust judgments against me.
²⁸你们要问：「霸王的家在那里？恶人住的帐幕在何处？」	²⁸For you say: Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
²⁹你们怎么不问过路的人？难道你们不承认他们的证据？	²⁹Ask any one of them that go by the way, and you shall perceive that he knoweth these same things.
³⁰「恶人在毁灭之日不受害，在愤怒之日会得救。」	³⁰Because the wicked man is reserved to the day of destruction, and he shall be brought to the day of wrath.
³¹他的动作，谁敢当面指摘？他的行为，谁能报复？	³¹Who shall reprove his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
³²他最后被抬入坟墓，且亲自守护自己的墓地。	³²He shall be brought to the graves, and shall watch in the heap of the dead.
³³谷中的土壤，他感觉甘美；众人都跟他而去，但在他前面的人，更不可胜数。	³³He hath been acceptable to the gravel of Cocytus, and he shall draw every man after him, and there are innumerable before him.
³⁴你们为何说空话来安慰我？你们的答话显然只是欺诈！	³⁴How then do ye comfort me in vain, whereas your answer is shewn to be repugnant to truth?
