约伯传	Job
¹你岂知道巖穴中野羊的产期，洞悉牝鹿何时生产？	¹Knowest thou the time when the wild goats bring forth among the rocks, or hast thou observed the hinds when they fawn?
²你岂能计算牠们怀孕的月分，预知牠们生产的日期？	²Hast thou numbered the months of their conceiving, or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
³牠们伏下产子之后，产痛立即过去。	³They bow themselves to bring forth young, and they cast them, and send forth roarings.
⁴幼雏健壮，在原野中长大；牠们一去，即不再返回。	⁴Their young are weaned and go to feed: they go forth, and return not to them.
⁵谁使野驴任意游荡，谁解去悍驴的缰绳？	⁵Who hath sent out the wild ass free, and who hath loosed his bonds?
⁶原来是我叫牠以原野为家，以盐地为居所。	⁶To whom I have given a house in the wilderness, and his dwellings in the barren land.
⁷牠耻笑城市的吵闹，听不到赶牲者的呵叱。	⁷He scorneth the multitude of the city, he heareth not the cry of the driver.
⁸牠以群山峻岭作自己的牧场，寻觅各种青草为食。	⁸He looketh round about the mountains of his pasture, and seeketh for every green thing.
⁹野牛岂肯为你服役，岂肯在你槽边过宿？	⁹Shall the rhinoceros be willing to serve thee, or will he stay at thy crib?
¹⁰你岂能以绳索系住牠的颈项，叫牠随你耕田？	¹⁰Canst thou bind the rhinoceros with thy thong to plough, or will he break the clods of the valleys after thee?
¹¹你岂能依靠牠的大力，任凭牠去作你的工作？	¹¹Wilt thou have confidence in his great strength, and leave thy labours to him?
¹²你岂能靠牠将麦捆运回，聚集在你的禾场上？	¹²Wilt thou trust him that he will render thee the seed, and gather it into thy barnfloor?
¹³驼鸟的翅翼鼓舞，牠的翼翎和羽毛岂表示慈爱？	¹³The wing of the ostrich is like the wings of the heron, and of the hawk.
¹⁴牠将卵留在地上，让沙土去温暖；	¹⁴When she leaveth her eggs on the earth, thou perhaps wilt warm them in the dust.
¹⁵牠不想人脚能踏碎，野兽能践坏。	¹⁵She forgetteth that the foot may tread upon them, or that the beasts of the field may break them.
¹⁶牠苛待雏鸟，若非己出，虽徒受苦痛，也毫不关心。	¹⁶She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers, she hath laboured in vain, no fear constraining her.
¹⁷因为天主没有赐牠这本能，也没有把良知赐给牠。	¹⁷For God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he given her understanding.
¹⁸但当牠振翼飞翔，却要讪笑骏马和骑师。	¹⁸When time shall be, she setteth up her wings on high: she scorneth the horse and his rider.
¹⁹马的力量，是你所赐？牠颈上的长騣，是你所披？	¹⁹Wilt thou give strength to the horse, or clothe his neck with neighing?
²⁰你岂能使牠跳跃如蚱蜢？牠雄壮的长嘶，实在使人胆寒。	²⁰Wilt thou lift him up like the locusts? the glory of his nostrils is terror.
²¹牠在谷中欢跃奔驰，勇往直前，冲锋迎敌。	²¹He breaketh up the earth with his hoof, he pranceth boldly, he goeth forward to meet armed men.
²²牠嗤笑胆怯，一无所惧；交锋之时，决不退缩。	²²He despiseth fear, he turneth not his back to the sword,
²³牠背上的箭袋震震作响，还有闪烁发光的矛与枪。	²³Above him shall the quiver rattle, the spear and shield shall glitter.
²⁴牠一闻号角，即不肯停蹄，急躁狂怒，不断啃地。	²⁴Chasing and raging he swalloweth the ground, neither doth he make account when the noise of the trumpet soundeth.
²⁵每次号角一鸣，牠必发出嘶声，由远处已闻到战争的气息，将领的号令和士卒的喊声。	²⁵When he heareth the trumpet he saith: Ha, ha: he smelleth the battle afar off, the encouraging of the captains, and the shouting of the army.
²⁶鹰展翅振翼南飞，岂是由于你的智慧？	²⁶Doth the hawk wax feathered by thy wisdom, spreading her wings to the south?
²⁷兀鹰腾空，营巢峭壁，岂是出于你的命令？	²⁷Will the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest in high places?
²⁸牠在山崖居住过宿，在峭峰上有牠的保障；	²⁸She abideth among the rocks, and dwelleth among cragged flints, and stony hills, where there is no access.
²⁹由那里窥伺猎物，牠的眼力可达远处。	²⁹From thence she looketh for the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
³⁰牠的幼雏也都吮血。那里有尸体，牠也在那里。	³⁰Her young ones shall suck up blood: and wheresoever the carcass shall be, she is immediately there.
³¹	³¹And the Lord went on, and said to Job:
³²	³²Shall he that contendeth with God be so easily silenced? surely he that reproveth God, ought to answer him.
³³	³³Then Job answered the Lord, and said:
³⁴	³⁴What can I answer, who hath spoken inconsiderately? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
³⁵	³⁵One thing I have spoken, which I wish I had not said: and another, to which I will add no more.
