若望福音	John
¹耶稣前行时，看见了一个生来瞎眼的人。	¹And Jesus passing by, saw a man, who was blind from his birth:
²他的门徒就问他说：「辣彼，谁犯了罪？是他，还是他的父母，竟使他生来瞎眼呢？」	²And his disciples asked him: Rabbi, who hath sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?
³耶稣答复说：「也不是他犯了罪，也不是他的父母，而是为叫天主的工作，在他身上显扬出来。	³Jesus answered: Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
⁴趁着白天，我们应做派遣我来者的工作；黑夜来到，就没有人能工作了。	⁴I must work the works of him that sent me, whilst it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
⁵当我在世界上的时候，我是世界的光。」	⁵As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
⁶耶稣说了这话以后，便吐唾沫在地上，用唾沫和了些泥，把泥抹在瞎子的眼上，	⁶When he had said these things, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and spread the clay on his eyes,
⁷对他说：「去，到史罗亚水池里洗洗罢！」──史罗亚解说「被派遣的」──瞎子去了，洗了，回来就看见了。	⁷And said to him: Go, wash in the pool of Siloe, which is interpreted, Sent. He went therefore, and washed, and he came seeing.
⁸于是，邻居和那些素来曾见他讨饭的人，就说：「这不那曾坐着讨饭的人么？」	⁸The neighbours therefore, and they who had seen him before that he was a beggar, said: Is not this he that sat and begged? Some said: This is he.
⁹有的说：「就是这人」，有的说：「不，是另一个很相似他的人。」那人却说：「就是我。」他们问他说：「你的眼睛究竟是怎样开的呢？」	⁹But others said: No, but he is like him. But he said: I am he.
¹⁰他们问他说：「你的眼睛究竟是怎样开的呢？」	¹⁰They said therefore to him: How were thy eyes opened?
¹¹他答复说：「名叫耶稣的那个人，和了些泥，抹在我的眼上，给我说：你往史罗亚去洗洗罢；我去了，洗了，就看见了。」	¹¹He answered: That man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me: Go to the pool of Siloe, and wash. And I went, I washed, and I see.
¹²他们又问他说：「那个人在那里？」他说：「我不知道。」	¹²And they said to him: Where is he? He saith: I know not.
¹³他们便将先前瞎眼的人，领到法利塞人那里。	¹³They bring him that had been blind to the Pharisees.
¹⁴耶稣和泥开他眼睛的那天，正是安息日。	¹⁴Now it was the sabbath, when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
¹⁵于是，法利塞人又诘问他怎样看见了。那人就向他们说：「他把泥放在我的眼上，我洗了，就看见了。」	¹⁵Again therefore the Pharisees asked him, how he had received his sight. But he said to them: He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and I see.
¹⁶法利塞人中有的说：「这人不是从天主来的，因为他不遵守安息日。」有的却说：「一个罪人怎能行这样的奇迹？」他们中间便发生了纷争。	¹⁶Some therefore of the Pharisees said: This man is not of God, who keepeth not the sabbath. But others said: How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
¹⁷于是，他们又问瞎子说：「对于那开了你眼睛的人，你说什么呢？」瞎子说：「他是一位先知。」	¹⁷They say therefore to the blind man again: What sayest thou of him that hath opened thy eyes? And he said: He is a prophet.
¹⁸可是，犹太人不肯相信他先是瞎子而后看见了，等到叫了复明者的父母来，	¹⁸The Jews then did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,
¹⁹问他们说：「这是你们的儿子么？你们说他生来就瞎眼么？怎么他现在竟看见了呢？」	¹⁹And asked them, saying: Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then doth he now see?
²⁰他的父母答复说：「我们知道这是我们的儿子，也生来就瞎。	²⁰His parents answered them, and said: We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
²¹如今他究竟怎么看见了，我们却不知道；或者谁开了他的眼睛，我们也不知道。你们问他罢！他已经成年，会说自己的事了。」	²¹But how he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: ask himself: he is of age, let him speak for himself.
²²他的父母因为害怕犹太人，才这样说，因为犹太人早已议定：谁若承认耶稣是默西亚，就必被逐出会堂。	²²These things his parents said, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had already agreed among themselves, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
²³为此，他的父母说：他已经成年，你们问他罢！	²³Therefore did his parents say: He is of age, ask himself.
²⁴于是法利塞人再把那先前瞎眼的人叫过来，向他说：「归光荣于天主罢！我们知道这人是个罪人。」	²⁴They therefore called the man again that had been blind, and said to him: Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.
²⁵那人回答说：「他是不是罪人，我不知道；有一件事我知道：我曾是个瞎子，现在我却看见了。」	²⁵He said therefore to them: If he be a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.
²⁶他们又问他说：「他给你作了什么？怎样开了你的眼睛？」	²⁶They said then to him: What did he to thee? How did he open thy eyes?
²⁷他回答说：「我已经告诉了你们，你们不听；为什么又愿意听呢？莫非你们也愿意做他的门徒么？」	²⁷He answered them: I have told you already, and you have heard: why would you hear it again? will you also become his disciples?
²⁸他们辱骂他说：「你去做他的门徒好了！我们是梅瑟的门徒。	²⁸They reviled him therefore, and said: Be thou his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses.
²⁹我们知道：天主曾给梅瑟说过话；至于这人，我们不知道他是从那里来的。」	²⁹We know that God spoke to Moses: but as to this man, we know not from whence he is.
³⁰那人回答说：「这真奇怪！你们不知道他是从那里来的，他却开了我的眼睛。	³⁰The man answered, and said to them: Why, herein is a wonderful thing, that you know not from whence he is, and he hath opened my eyes.
³¹我们都晓得天主不俯听罪人，只俯听那恭敬天主，并承行他旨意的人。	³¹Now we know that God doth not hear sinners: but if a man be a server of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.
³²自古以来从未听说：有人开了生来就是瞎子的眼睛。	³²From the beginning of the world it hath not been heard, that any man hath opened the eyes of one born blind.
³³这人若不是由天主来的，他什么也不能作。」	³³Unless this man were of God, he could not do any thing.
³⁴他们却向他说：「你整个生于罪恶中，竟来教训我们？」便把他赶出去了。	³⁴They answered, and said to him: Thou wast wholly born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
³⁵耶稣听说他们把他赶出去了，后来遇见了他，就给他说：「你信人子么？」	³⁵Jesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he said to him: Dost thou believe in the Son of God?
³⁶那人便回答说：「主，是谁，好使我去信他呢？」	³⁶He answered, and said: Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?
³⁷耶稣对他说：「你已看见他了，和你讲话的就是！」	³⁷And Jesus said to him: Thou hast both seen him; and it is he that talketh with thee.
³⁸他遂说道：「主，我信。」遂俯伏朝拜了耶稣。	³⁸And he said: I believe, Lord. And falling down, he adored him.
³⁹耶稣遂说：「我是为了判别，才到这世界上来，叫那些看不见的，看得见；叫那些看得见的，反而成为瞎子。」	³⁹And Jesus said: For judgment I am come into this world; that they who see not, may see; and they who see, may become blind.
⁴⁰有些和他在一起的法利塞人，一听了这话，就说：「难道我们也是瞎子么？」	⁴⁰And some of the Pharisees, who were with him, heard: and they said unto him: Are we also blind?
⁴¹耶稣回答说：「你们如果是瞎子，就没有罪了；但你们如今说：我们看得见，你们的罪恶便存留下了。」	⁴¹Jesus said to them: If you were blind, you should not have sin: but now you say: We see. Your sin remaineth.
