| 1厄弗辣因山地有一个人，名叫米加， | 1There was at that time a man of mount Ephraim whose name was Michas, |
| 2-3他对自己的母亲说：「有人拿去你那一千一百银钱，对这事你曾起过誓，我也亲自听见你说：我要亲手把这项银钱奉献给上主，为我儿做一尊神像。看，银钱在这里，是我拿了；如今还给你！」他的母亲就说：「愿我儿蒙上主祝福！」于是米加就把一千一百银钱还给他的母亲。 | 2Who said to his mother: The eleven hundred pieces of silver, which thou hadst put aside for thyself, and concerning which thou didst swear in my hearing, behold I have, and they are with me. And she said to him: Blessed be my son by the Lord. |
| 4当他把银钱还给他的母亲以后，他的母亲便拿出两百银子给了银匠，请他制造一尊神像，安放在米加的家里。 | 3So he restored them to his mother, who said to him: I have consecrated and vowed this silver to the Lord, that my son may receive it at my hand, and make a graven and a molten god, so now I deliver it to thee. |
| 5于是米加为这尊神像盖了一座神庙，又做了「厄弗得」和「忒辣芬」，委派自己的一个儿子充任司祭。 | 4And he restored them to his mother: and she took two hundred pieces of silver and gave them to the silversmith, to make of them a graven and a molten god, which was in the house of Michas. |
| 6当时在以色列没有君王，各人任意行事。 | 5And he separated also therein a little temple for the god, and made an ephod, and theraphim, that is to say, a priestly garment, and idols: and he filled the hand of one of his sons, and he became his priest. |
| 7当时有一个少年，他是个肋未人，从犹大白冷，即从犹大支派来到那里作客。 | 6In those days there was no king in Israel, but every one did that which seemed right to himself. |
| 8这人离开犹大白冷，想找一个可寄居的地方；当他旅行的时候，来到厄弗辣因山地，米加的家旁， | 7There was also another young man of Bethlehem Juda, of the kindred thereof: and he was a Levite, and dwelt there. |
| 9米加问他说：「你从那里来？」他回答说：「我是个肋未人，由犹大白冷来，想找一个可寄居的地方。」 | 8Now he went out from the city of Bethlehem, and desired to sojourn wheresoever he should find it convenient for him. And when he was come to mount Ephraim, as he was on his journey, and had turned aside a little into the house of Michas, |
| 10米加就对他说：「你住在我这里罢！作我的师傅和司祭，我每年给你十块银钱，还照管你的吃穿。」米加挽留那肋未人， | 9He was asked by him whence he came. And he answered: I am a Levite of Bethlehem Juda, and I am going to dwell where I can, and where I shall find a place to my advantage. |
| 11他遂同意住在米加那里，他看待这少年好似自己的儿子。 | 10And Michas said: Stay with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee every year ten pieces of silver, and a double suit of apparel, and thy victuals. |
| 12米加又委任了这肋未人，这人遂作了他的司祭，住在米加家中。 | 11He was content, and abode with the man, and was unto him as one of his sons. |
| 13于是米加说：「如今我知道上主必施恩予我，因为有位肋未人作了我的司祭。」 | 12And Michas filled his hand, and had the young man with him, for his priest, saying: |
| 14 | 13Now I know God will do me good, since I have a priest of the race of the Levites. |
