¹耶稣又对门徒们说：「曾有一个富翁，他有一个管家；有人在主人前告发这人挥霍了主人的财物。	¹And he said also to his disciples: There was a certain rich man who had a steward: and the same was accused unto him, that he had wasted his goods.
²主人便把他叫来，向他说：我怎么听说你有这样的事？把你管理家务的帐目交出来，因为你不能再作管家了。	²And he called him, and said to him: How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship: for now thou canst be steward no longer.
³那管家自言自语道：主人要撤去我管家的职务，我可做什么呢？掘地罢，我没有气力；讨饭罢，我又害羞。	³And the steward said within himself: What shall I do, because my lord taketh away from me the stewardship? To dig I am not able; to beg I am ashamed.
⁴我知道我要做什么，好叫人们，在我被撤去管家职务之后，收留我在他们家中。	⁴I know what I will do, that when I shall be removed from the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
⁵于是，他把主人的债户一一叫来，给第一个说：你欠我主人多少？	⁵Therefore calling together every one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first: How much dost thou owe my lord?
⁶那人说：一百桶油。管家向他说：拿你的账单，坐下快写作五十。	⁶But he said: An hundred barrels of oil. And he said to him: Take thy bill and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
⁷随后，又给另一个说：你欠多少？那人说：一百石麦子。管家向他说：拿你的账单，写作八十。	⁷Then he said to another: And how much dost thou owe? Who said: An hundred quarters of wheat. He said to him: Take thy bill, and write eighty.
⁸主人遂称赞这个不义的管家，办事精明：这些今世之子应付自己的世代，比光明之子更为精明。	⁸And the lord commended the unjust steward, forasmuch as he had done wisely: for the children of this world are wiser in their generation than the children of light.
⁹我告诉你们：要用不义的钱财交结朋友，为在你们匮乏的时候，好叫他们收留你们到永远的帐幕里。	⁹And I say to you: Make unto you friends of the mammon of iniquity; that when you shall fail, they may receive you into everlasting dwellings.
¹⁰在小事上忠信的，在大事上也忠信；在小事上不义的，在大事上也不义。	¹⁰He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in that which is greater: and he that is unjust in that which is little, is unjust also in that which is greater.
¹¹那么，如果你们在不义的钱财上不忠信，谁还把真实的钱财委托给你们呢？	¹¹If then you have not been faithful in the unjust mammon; who will trust you with that which is the true?
¹²如果你们在别人的财物上不忠信，谁还把属于你们的交给你们呢？	¹²And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's; who will give you that which is your own?
¹³没有一个家仆能事奉两个主人的：他或是要恨这一个而爱那一个，或是要依附这一个而轻忽那一个：你们不能事奉天主而又事奉钱财。」	¹³No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
¹⁴爱财的法利塞人，听了这一切话，便嗤笑耶稣。	¹⁴Now the Pharisees, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
¹⁵耶稣向他们说：「你们在人前自充义人，但是，天主知道你们的心，因为在人前是崇高的事，在天主前却是可憎的。	¹⁵And he said to them: You are they who justify yourselves before men, but God knoweth your hearts; for that which is high to men, is an abomination before God.
¹⁶法律及先知到若翰为止，从此天主国的喜讯便传扬开来，人人都应奋勉进入。	¹⁶The law and the prophets were until John; from that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every one useth violence towards it.
¹⁷然而天地过去，比法律的一笔一画失落，还要容易。	¹⁷And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fall.
¹⁸凡休妻而另娶的，是犯奸淫；那娶人所休的妻子的，也是犯奸淫。」	¹⁸Every one that putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth her that is put away from her husband, committeth adultery.
¹⁹「有一个富家人，身穿紫红袍及细麻衣，天天奢华地宴乐。	¹⁹There was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen; and feasted sumptuously every day.
²⁰另有一个乞丐，名叫拉匝禄，满身疮痍，躺卧在他的大门前。	²⁰And there was a certain beggar, named Lazarus, who lay at his gate, full of sores,
²¹他指望藉富家人桌上掉下的碎屑充饥，但只有狗来舔他的疮痍。	²¹Desiring to be filled with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table, and no one did give him; moreover the dogs came, and licked his sores.
²²那乞丐死了，天使把他送到亚巴郎的怀抱里。那个富家人也死了，被人埋葬了。	²²And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. And the rich man also died: and he was buried in hell.
²³他在阴间，在痛苦中举目一望，远远看见亚巴郎及他怀抱中的拉匝禄，	²³And lifting up his eyes when he was in torments, he saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom:
²⁴便喊叫说：父亲亚巴郎！可怜我罢！请打发拉匝禄用他的指头尖，蘸点水来凉润我的舌头，因为我在这火燄中极其惨苦。	²⁴And he cried, and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, to cool my tongue: for I am tormented in this flame.
²⁵亚巴郎说：孩子，你应记得你活着的时候，已享尽了你的福，而拉匝禄同样也受尽了苦。现在，他在这里受安慰，而你应受苦了。	²⁵And Abraham said to him: Son, remember that thou didst receive good things in thy lifetime, and likewise Lazareth evil things, but now he is comforted; and thou art tormented.
²⁶除此之外，在我们与你们之间，隔着一个巨大的深渊，致使人即便愿意，从这边到你们那边去也不能，从那边到我们这边来也不能。	²⁶And besides all this, between us and you, there is fixed a great chaos: so that they who would pass from hence to you, cannot, nor from thence come hither.
²⁷那人说：父亲！那么就请你打发拉匝禄到我父家去，	²⁷And he said: Then, father, I beseech thee, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house, for I have five brethren,
²⁸因为我有五个兄弟，叫他警告他们，免得他们也来到这痛苦的地方。	²⁸That he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torments.
²⁹亚巴郎说：他们自有梅瑟及先知，听从他们好了。	²⁹And Abraham said to him: They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
³⁰他说：不，父亲亚巴郎！倘若有人从死者中到了他们那里，他们必会悔改。	³⁰But he said: No, father Abraham: but if one went to them from the dead, they will do penance.
³¹亚巴郎给他说：如果他们不听从梅瑟及先知，纵使有人从死者中复活了，他们也必不信服。」	³¹And he said to him: If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe, if one rise again from the dead.
