¹耶稣充满圣神，由约但河回来，就被圣神引到荒野里去了，	¹And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the desert,
²四十天的工夫受魔鬼试探；他在那日期内什么也没有吃，过了那日期就饿了。	²For the space of forty days; and was tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry.
³魔鬼对他说：「你若是天主子，命这块石头变成饼罢！」	³And the devil said to him: If thou be the Son of God, say to this stone that it be made bread.
⁴耶稣回答说：「经上记载：『人生活不只靠饼。』」	⁴And Jesus answered him: It is written, that Man liveth not by bread alone, but by every word of God.
⁵魔鬼引他到高处，顷刻间把普世万国指给他看，	⁵And the devil led him into a high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time;
⁶并对他说：「这一切权势及其荣华，我都要给你，因为全交给我了；我愿意把它给谁，就给谁。	⁶And he said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them.
⁷所以，你若是朝拜我，这一切都是你的。」	⁷If thou therefore wilt adore before me, all shall be thine.
⁸耶稣回答说：「经上记载：『你要朝拜上主，你的天主；惟独奉侍他。』」	⁸And Jesus answering said to him: It is written: Thou shalt adore the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
⁹魔鬼又引他到耶路撒冷，把他放在圣殿顶上，向他说：「你若是天主子，从这里跳下去罢！	⁹And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him: If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself from hence.
¹⁰因为经上记载：『他为你吩咐了自己的天使保护你，	¹⁰For it is written, that He hath given his angels charge over thee, that they keep thee.
¹¹他们要用手托着你，免得你的脚踫在石头上。』」	¹¹And that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest perhaps thou dash thy foot against a stone.
¹²耶稣回答说：「经上说：『不可试探上主，你的天主。』」	¹²And Jesus answering, said to him: It is said: Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
¹³魔鬼用尽了各种试探后，就离开了他，再等时机。	¹³And all the temptation being ended, the devil departed from him for a time.
¹⁴耶稣因圣神的德能，回到加里肋亚。他的名声传遍了临近各地。	¹⁴And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit, into Galilee, and the fame of him went out through the whole country.
¹⁵他在他们的会堂内施教，受到众人的称扬。	¹⁵And he taught in their synagogues, and was magnified by all.
¹⁶他来到了纳匝肋，自己曾受教养的地方；按他的习惯，就在安息日那天进了会堂，并站起来要诵读。	¹⁶And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up: and he went into the synagogue, according to his custom, on the sabbath day; and he rose up to read.
¹⁷有人把《依撒意亚先知书》递给他；他遂展开书卷，找到了一处，上边写说：	¹⁷And the book of Isaias the prophet was delivered unto him. And as he unfolded the book, he found the place where it was written:
¹⁸『上主的神临于我身上，因为他给我傅了油，派遣我向贫穷人传报喜讯，向俘虏宣告释放，向盲者宣告复明，使受压迫者获得自由，	¹⁸The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Wherefore he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the contrite of heart,
¹⁹宣布上主恩慈之年。』	¹⁹To preach deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of reward.
²⁰他把书卷卷起来，交给侍役，就坐下了。会堂内众人的眼睛都注视着他。	²⁰And when he had folded the book, he restored it to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
²¹他便开始对他们说：「你们刚才听过的这段圣经，今天应验了。」	²¹And he began to say to them: This day is fulfilled this scripture in your ears.
²²众人都称赞他，惊奇他口中所说的动听的话；并且说：「这不是若瑟的儿子吗？」	²²And all gave testimony to him: and they wondered at the words of grace that proceeded from his mouth, and they said: Is not this the son of Joseph?
²³他回答他们说：「你们必定要对我说这句俗语：医生，医治你自己罢！我们听说你在葛法翁所行的一切，也在你的家乡这里行罢！」	²³And he said to them: Doubtless you will say to me this similitude: Physician, heal thyself: as great things as we have heard done in Capharnaum, do also here in thy own country.
²⁴他又说：「我实在告诉你们：没有一个先知在本乡受悦纳的。	²⁴And he said: Amen I say to you, that no prophet is accepted in his own country.
²⁵我据实告诉你们：在厄里亚时代，天闭塞了三年零六个月，遍地起了大饥荒，在以色列原有许多寡妇，	²⁵In truth I say to you, there were many widows in the days of Elias in Israel, when heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there was a great famine throughout all the earth.
²⁶厄里亚并没有被派到她们中一个那里去，而只到了漆冬匝尔法特的一个寡妇那里。	²⁶And to none of them was Elias sent, but to Sarepta of Sidon, to a widow woman.
²⁷在厄里叟先知时代，在以色列有许多癞病人，他们中没有一个得洁净的，只有叙利亚的纳阿曼。」	²⁷And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet: and none of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian.
²⁸在会堂中听见这话的人，都忿怒填胸，	²⁸And all they in the synagogue, hearing these things, were filled with anger.
²⁹起来把他赶出城外，领他到了山崖上──他们的城是建在山上的──要把他推下去。	²⁹And they rose up and thrust him out of the city; and they brought him to the brow of the hill, whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
³⁰他却由他们中间过去走了。	³⁰But he passing through the midst of them, went his way.
³¹耶稣下到加里肋亚的葛法翁城，就在安息日教训人。	³¹And he went down into Capharnaum, a city of Galilee, and there he taught them on the sabbath days.
³²人都十分惊奇他的教训，因为他的话具有一种权威。	³²And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his speech was with power.
³³在会堂里有一个附着邪魔恶鬼的人，他大声喊叫说：	³³And in the synagogue there was a man who had an unclean devil, and he cried out with a loud voice,
³⁴「啊！纳匝肋人耶稣，我们与你有什么相干？你来毁灭我们吗！我知道你是谁：是天主的圣者。」	³⁴Saying: Let us alone, what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the holy one of God.
³⁵耶稣叱责他说：「不要作声！从这人身上出去！」魔鬼把那人摔倒在人中间，便从他身上出去了，丝毫没有伤害他。	³⁵And Jesus rebuked him, saying: Hold thy peace, and go out of him. And when the devil had thrown him into the midst, he went out of him, and hurt him not at all.
³⁶遂有一种惊骇笼罩了众人，他们彼此谈论说：「这是什么事？他用权柄和能力命令邪魔，而他们竟出去了！」	³⁶And there came fear upon all, and they talked among themselves, saying: What word is this, for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they go out?
³⁷他的名声便传遍了附近各地。	³⁷And the fame of him was published into every place of the country.
³⁸他从会堂里出来，进了西满的家。西满的岳母正发高热，他们为她祈求耶稣。	³⁸And Jesus rising up out of the synagogue, went into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever, and they besought him for her.
³⁹耶稣就走到她身边，叱退热症，热症就离开了她；她立刻起来服事他们。	³⁹And standing over her, he commanded the fever, and it left her. And immediately rising, she ministered to them.
⁴⁰日落后，众人把所有患各种病症的，都领到他跟前，他就把手覆在每一个人身上，治好了他们。	⁴⁰And when the sun was down, all they that had any sick with divers diseases, brought them to him. But he laying his hands on every one of them, healed them.
⁴¹又有些从许多人身上出来的魔鬼呐喊说：「你是天主子！」他便叱责他们，不许他们说话，因为他们知道他是默西亚。	⁴¹And devils went out from many, crying out and saying: Thou art the Son of God. And rebuking them he suffered them not to speak, for they knew that he was Christ.
⁴²天一亮，耶稣就出去到了荒野地方；群众就寻找他，一直来到他那里，挽留他不要离开他们。	⁴²And when it was day, going out he went into a desert place, and the multitudes sought him, and came unto him: and they stayed him that he should not depart from them.
⁴³他却向他们说：「我也必须向别的城传报天主国的喜讯，因为我被派遣，正是为了这事。」	⁴³To whom he said: To other cities also I must preach the kingdom of God: for therefore am I sent.
⁴⁴他就常在犹太的各会堂中宣讲。	⁴⁴And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
