| 1巴郎见祝福以色列，为上主所喜悦，就不再像前几次一样先去探求预示，只转面向旷野。 | 1And when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord that he should bless Israel. he went not as he had gone before, to seek divination: but setting his face towards the desert, |
| 2巴郎一举目，看见了按支派扎营的以色列人；那时天主的神降在他身上， | 2And lifting up his eyes, he saw Israel abiding in their tents by their tribes: and the spirit of God rushing upon him, |
| 3他遂吟诗说：「贝敖尔的儿子巴郎的神谕，明眼男子的神谕， | 3He took up his parable and said: Balaam the son of Beor hath said: The man hath said, whose eye ire stopped up: |
| 4那听到天主的话，得见全能者的神视，在沉睡中开了神眼的神谕： | 4The hearer of the words of God hath said, he that hath beheld the vision of the Almighty, he that falleth, and so his eyes are opened: |
| 5雅各伯，你的帐幕，何其壮观！以色列，你的居所，何其美好！ | 5How beautiful are thy tabernacles, O Jacob, and thy tents, O Israel! |
| 6如扩展的棕林，似河畔的花园，像上主栽种的沉香，似临水的香柏。 | 6As woody valleys, as watered gardens near the rivers, as tabernacles which the Lord hath pitched, as cedars by the waterside. |
| 7英雄由他的后裔而出，他将治理许多民族；他的君王超越阿加格，他的王国必受举扬。 | 7Water shall flow out of his bucket, and his seed shall be in many waters. For Agag his king shall be removed, and his kingdom shall be taken awry. |
| 8领他出埃及的天主，为他有如野牛的角。他要吞灭那敌对他的人民，粉碎他们的骨骸，折断他们的箭矢。 | 8God hath brought him out of Egypt, whose strength is like to the rhinoceros. They shall devour the nations that are his enemies, and break their bones, and pierce them with arrows. |
| 9他蹲伏卧下有如雄狮，又似母狮；谁敢令他起立？祝福你的，必受祝福；咒骂你的，必受咒骂。」 | 9Lying down he hath slept as a lion, and as a lioness, whom none shall dare to rouse. He that blesseth thee, shall also himself be blessed: he that curseth thee shall be reckoned accursed. |
| 10巴拉克对巴郎大发忿怒，拍手向他说：「我请你来是为咒骂我的仇敌；看，你反祝福他们，且已三次。 | 10And Balac being angry against Balaam, clapped his hands together and said: I called thee to curse my enemies, and thou on the contrary hast blessed them three times. |
| 11现在你快回你故乡去！我原想丰富地酬谢你，但是，上主夺去了你的酬报。」 | 11Return to thy place. I had determined indeed greatly to honour thee, but the Lord hath deprived thee of the honour designed for thee. |
| 12巴郎回答巴拉克说：「我不是已对你遣来的使者声明过： | 12Balaam made answer to Balac: Did I not say to thy messengers, whom thou sentest to me: |
| 13即使巴拉克给我满屋金银，我也不能违犯上主的命令，任意去行善或作恶，而只能说上主所吩咐的吗？ | 13If Balac would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the Lord my God, to utter any thing of my own head either good or evil: but whatsoever the Lord shall say, that I will speak? |
| 14现在，我就要回到我民族那里去；来，让我告诉你这民族日后对你的民族所要做的事。」 | 14But yet going to my people, I will give thee counsel, what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days. |
| 15于是他吟诗说：「贝敖尔的儿子巴郎的神谕，明眼男子的神谕， | 15Therefore taking up his parable, again he said: Balaam the son of Beor hath said: The man whose eye is stopped up, hath said: |
| 16那听到天主的话，深知至高者的思虑，得见全能者的神视，在沉睡中开了神眼的神谕： | 16The hearer of the words of God hath said, who knoweth the doctrine of the Highest, and seeth the visions of the Almighty, who falling hath his eyes opened: |
| 17我看见他，却不是在现在；我望见他，却不是在近处：由雅各伯将出现一颗星，由以色列将兴起一权杖，击碎摩阿布的额角，粉碎舍特一切子民的脑盖。 | 17I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not near. A STAR SHALL RISE out of Jacob and a sceptre shall spring up from Israel: and shall strike the chiefs of Moab, and shall waste all the children of Seth. |
| 18厄东将成为他的属地，色依尔将成为他的辖境；以色列必行使威权。 | 18And he shall possess Idumea: the inheritance of Seir shall come to their enemies, but Israel shall do manfully. |
| 19由雅各伯将出生一位统治仇敌者，他要除灭依尔的遗民。」 | 19Out of Jacob shall he come that shall rule, and shall destroy the remains of the city. |
| 20以后他望见阿玛肋克，遂吟诗说：「阿玛肋克原是众民之首，但他的结局是永远的灭亡。」 | 20And when he saw Amalec, he took up his parable, and said: Amalec the beginning of nations, whose latter ends shall be destroyed. |
| 21后又望见刻尼人，遂吟诗说：「你的居所固然巩固，你的巢穴纵然建在磐石间； | 21He saw also the Cinite: and took up his parable, and said: Thy habitation indeed is strong: but though thou build thy nest in a rock, |
| 22但刻尼人仍要被毁灭，到何时亚述才将你掳去？」 | 22And thou be chosen of the stock of Cin, how long shalt thou be able to continue? For Assur shall take thee captive. |
| 23他又吟诗说：「呜呼！若天主履行此事，谁还能生存！ | 23And taking up his parable, again he said: Alas, who shall live when God shall do these things? |
| 24从基廷有船来，征服亚述，征服厄贝尔；他们也要永远灭亡。」 | 24They shall come in galleys from Italy, they shall overcome the Assyrians, and shall waste the Hebrews, and at the last they themselves also shall perish. |
| 25然后巴郎起身回了本乡；巴拉克也回去了。 | 25And Balaam rose, and returned to his place: Balac also returned the way that he came. |
