| 1所以，如果你们在基督内获得了鼓励，爱的劝勉，圣神的交往，哀怜和同情， | 1If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any society of the spirit, if any bowels of commiseration: |
| 2你们就应彼此意见一致，同气相爱，同心合意，思念同样的事，以满全我的喜乐。 | 2Fulfill ye my joy, that you may be of one mind, having the same charity, being of one accord, agreeing in sentiment. |
| 3不论做什么，不从私见，也不求虚荣，只存心谦下，彼此该想自己不如人； | 3Let nothing be done through contention, neither by vain glory: but in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves: |
| 4各人不可只顾自己的事，也该顾及别人的事。 | 4Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men's. |
| 5你们该怀有基督耶稣所怀有的心情： | 5For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: |
| 6他虽具有天主的形体，并没有以自己与天主同等，为应当把持不舍的， | 6Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: |
| 7却使自己空虚，取了奴仆的形体，与人相似，形状也一见如人； | 7But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man. |
| 8他贬抑自己，听命至死，且死在十字架上。 | 8He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross. |
| 9为此，天主极其举扬他，赐给了他一个名字，超越其他所有的名字， | 9For which cause God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names: |
| 10致使上天、地上和地下的一切，一听到耶稣的名字，无不屈膝叩拜； | 10That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth: |
| 11一切唇舌无不明认耶稣基督是主，以光荣天主圣父。 | 11And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father. |
| 12为此，我可爱的，就如你们常常听了命，不但我与你们同在的时候，就是如今不在的时候，你们更应该听命。你们要怀着恐惧战栗，努力成就你们得救的事， | 12Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation. |
| 13因为是天主在你们内工作，使你们愿意，并使你们力行，为成就他的善意。 | 13For it is God who worketh in you, both to will and to accomplish, according to his good will. |
| 14你们做一切事，总不可抱怨，也不可争论， | 14And do ye all things without murmurings and hesitations; |
| 15好使你们成为无可指摘和纯洁的，在乖僻败坏的世代中，做天主无瑕的子女；在世人中你们应放光明，有如宇宙间的明星， | 15That you may be blameless, and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among whom you shine as lights in the world. |
| 16将生命的话显耀出来，使我到基督的日子，有可自夸的，那我就没有白跑，也没有徒劳。 | 16Holding forth the word of life to my glory in the day of Christ, because I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain. |
| 17即使我应在你们信德的祭祀和供献上奠我的血，我也喜欢，且与你们众位一同喜欢； | 17Yea, and if I be made a victim upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and congratulate with you all. |
| 18同样，你们也该喜欢，也该与我一同喜欢。 | 18And for the selfsame thing do you also rejoice, and congratulate with me. |
| 19我在主耶稣内希望不久打发弟茂德到你们那里去，好叫我知道你们的事而放心。 | 19And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy unto you shortly, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know the things concerning you. |
| 20实在，我没有一个像他那样诚心关照你们的人， | 20For I have no man so of the same mind, who with sincere affection is solicitous for you. |
| 21因为其他的人都谋求自己的事，而不谋求基督耶稣的事。 | 21For all seek the things that are their own; not the things that are Jesus Christ's. |
| 22至于他，你们知道他所受过的考验，他对我如同儿子对待父亲一样，与我一同从事了福音的工作。 | 22Now know ye the proof of him, that as a son with the father, so hath he served with me in the gospel. |
| 23所以，我希望，几时我一看出我的事怎样了结，就立即打发他去； | 23Him therefore I hope to send unto you immediately, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me. |
| 24并且在主内我自信，我自己也快去。 | 24And I trust in the Lord, that I myself also shall come to you shortly. |
| 25再者，我以为必须把我的弟兄、同事和战友，即你们派来为供给我的急需的使者，厄帕洛狄托给你们打发回去， | 25But I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow labourer, and fellow soldier, but your apostle, and he that hath ministered to my wants. |
| 26因为他常想念你们众人，又因你们听说他病了，他更为心焦。 | 26For indeed he longed after you all: and was sad, for that you had heard that he was sick. |
| 27实在，他曾病得几乎要死；但天主可怜了他，不但他，而且也可怜了我，免得我愁上加愁。 | 27For indeed he was sick, nigh unto death; but God had mercy on him; and not only on him, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. |
| 28那么，我尽速打发他回去，好叫你们看见他再感到喜乐，而我也减少忧苦。 | 28Therefore I sent him the more speedily: that seeing him again, you may rejoice, and I may be without sorrow. |
| 29所以你们应该在主内满心喜欢接待他；像这样的人，你们应当尊敬， | 29Receive him therefore with all joy in the Lord; and treat with honour such as he is. |
| 30因为他为了基督的工作，曾冒性命的危险，接近了死亡，为弥补你们未能事奉我的亏缺。 | 30Because for the work of Christ he came to the point of death: delivering his life, that he might fulfill that which on your part was wanting towards my service. |
