箴言	Proverbs
¹玛萨的君王肋慕耳的格言，是他母亲教给他的：	¹The words of king Lamuel. The vision wherewith his mother instructed him.
²我儿！我的亲生儿！我的长子肋慕耳！我许愿所得的孩子！我可给你说些什么？	²What, O my beloved, what, O the beloved of my womb, what, O the beloved of my vows?
³你不要将你的精力，为女人而消耗；也不要为君王的宫女，白费你的血气。	³Give not thy substance to women, and thy riches to destroy kings.
⁴肋慕耳！清酒不宜于君王，醇酒不宜于公侯。	⁴Give not to kings, O Lamuel, give not wine to kings: because there is no secret where drunkenness reigneth:
⁵免得在酒兴之余，轻易将法律忘掉，颠倒穷人的是非。	⁵And lest they drink and forget judgments, and pervert the cause of the children of the poor.
⁶应将醇酒给与哀恸欲绝的人，应将清酒给与心灵痛楚的人，	⁶Give strong drink to them that are sad: and wine to them that are grieved in mind:
⁷好叫他们喝了，完全忘掉自己的贫乏，不再记忆自己的忧苦。	⁷Let them drink, and forget their want, and remember their sorrow no more.
⁸你应为哑巴开口，为被弃的人辩护；	⁸Open thy mouth for the dumb, and for the causes of all the children that pass.
⁹你应开口秉公行审，应为贫苦弱小辩护。	⁹Open thy mouth, decree that which is just, and do justice to the needy and poor.
¹⁰贤淑的妇女，有谁能找到？她本身价值，远胜过珠宝。	¹⁰Who shall find a valiant woman? far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her.
¹¹她的丈夫对她衷心信赖，一切所需要从来不会缺少。	¹¹The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no need of spoils.
¹²她一生岁月，只叫他幸福，不给他烦恼。	¹²She will render him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
¹³她弄来羊毛细麻，愉快地亲手劳作。	¹³She hath sought wool and flax, and hath wrought by the counsel of her hands.
¹⁴她宛如一只商船，由远处运来食粮。	¹⁴She is like the merchant's ship, she bringeth her bread from afar.
¹⁵天还未明，她已起身，为给家人分配食物，给婢女们分派家务。	¹⁵And she hath risen in the night, and given a prey to her household, and victuals to her maidens.
¹⁶她看中一块田地，就将它买了来，以双手所得的收入，栽植了葡萄园。	¹⁶She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard.
¹⁷她以勇力束腰，增强自己臂力。	¹⁷She hath girded her loins with strength, and hath strengthened her arm.
¹⁸她发觉自己经营生利，她的灯盏夜间仍不熄灭。	¹⁸She hath tasted and seen that her traffic is good: her lamp shall not be put out in the night.
¹⁹她手执纺锤，手指旋转纱锭。	¹⁹She hath put out her hand to strong things, and her fingers have taken hold of the spindle.
²⁰对贫苦的人，她随手赒济；对无靠的人，她伸手扶助。	²⁰She hath opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor.
²¹为自己的家人，她不害怕风雪，因为全家上下，都穿双料衣裳。	²¹She shall not fear for her house in the cold of snow: for all her domestics are clothed with double garments.
²²她为自己做了华丽的舖盖，身穿的是细麻和紫锦的衣裳。	²²She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple is her covering.
²³她的丈夫与当地长老同席，在城门口深为众人所认识。	²³Her husband is honourable in the gates, when he sitteth among the senators of the land.
²⁴她纺织纱布予以出售，又制造腰带卖与商贾。	²⁴She made fine linen, and sold it, and delivered a girdle to the Chanaanite.
²⁵刚毅和尊严是她的服饰，一念及将来便笑容满面。	²⁵Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day.
²⁶她一开口即倾吐智慧，舌上常有仁慈的训诲。	²⁶She hath opened her mouth to wisdom, and the law of clemency is on her tongue.
²⁷她不断督察家务，从不白吃闲饭。	²⁷She hath looked well to the paths of her house, and hath not eaten her bread idle.
²⁸她的子女起来向她祝福，她的丈夫对她赞不绝口：	²⁸Her children rose up, and called her blessed: her husband, and he praised her.
²⁹「贤淑的女子很多，惟有你的超群出众。」	²⁹Many daughters have gathered together riches: thou hast surpassed them all.
³⁰姿色是虚幻，美丽是泡影；敬畏上主的女人，才堪当受人赞美。	³⁰Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
³¹愿她享受她双手操劳的成果！愿她的事业在城门口使她受赞扬！	³¹Give her of the fruit of her hands: and let her works praise her in the gates.
