箴言	Proverbs
¹我儿，不要忘了我的法律，该诚心恪守我的诫命，	¹My son, forget not my law, and let thy heart keep my commandments.
²因为这样能使你延年益寿，也能增加你的康宁。	²For they shall add to thee length of days, and years of life and peace.
³不要让慈祥和忠实离弃你，要将她们系在你的颈上，刻在你的心版上；	³Let not mercy and truth leave thee, put them about thy neck, and write them in the tables of thy heart:
⁴这样，你在天主和世人面前，必获得宠幸和恩爱。	⁴And thou shalt find grace and good understanding before God and men.
⁵你应全心信赖上主，总不要依赖自己的聪明；	⁵Have confidence in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not upon thy own prudence.
⁶应步步体会上主，他必修平你的行径。	⁶In all thy ways think on him, and he will direct thy steps.
⁷不要自作聪明，应敬畏上主，远避邪恶；	⁷Be not wise in thy own conceit: fear God, and depart from evil:
⁸如此，你的身体必会康健，你的骨骼也会舒适。	⁸For it shall be health to thy navel, and moistening to thy bones.
⁹应以你的财物和一切初熟之物，去尊崇上主；	⁹Honour the Lord with thy substance, and give him of the first of all thy fruits:
¹⁰这样，你的仓廪必充满粮食，你的榨酒池必盈溢新酒。	¹⁰And thy barns shall be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall run over with wine.
¹¹我儿，不要轻视上主的惩戒，也不要厌恶他的谴责，	¹¹My son, reject not the correction of the Lord: and do not faint when thou art chastised by him:
¹²因为上主谴责他所爱的，有如父亲谴责他的爱子。	¹²For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.
¹³寻得智慧和获取睿智的人是有福的，	¹³Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom and is rich in prudence:
¹⁴因为赚得智慧胜于赚得银钱；智慧的果实胜于纯金。	¹⁴The purchasing thereof is better than the merchandise of silver, and her fruit than the chiefest and purest gold:
¹⁵智慧比珍珠还要宝贵；凡你所贪求的，都不足以与她伦比。	¹⁵She is more precious than all riches: and all the things that are desired, are not to be compared with her.
¹⁶在她右边是延年益寿，在她左边是富贵荣华。	¹⁶Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
¹⁷她的道路是康乐之道，她的行径是一片安宁。	¹⁷Her ways are beautiful ways, and all her paths are peaceable.
¹⁸她为掌握她的人，是一株生命树；凡坚持她的，必将纳福。	¹⁸She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and he that shall retain her is blessed.
¹⁹上主以智慧奠定了大地，以睿智坚定了高天；	¹⁹The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth, hath established the heavens by prudence.
²⁰赖他的智识，深渊才裂口喷水，云彩才降下甘露。	²⁰By his wisdom the depths have broken out, and the clouds grow thick with dew.
²¹我儿，你应保持明智和慎重，不要让她们离开你的视线：	²¹My son, let not these things depart from thy eyes: keep the law and counsel:
²²二者应是你心灵的生命，是你颈项的华饰；	²²And there shall be life to thy soul, and grace to thy mouth.
²³这样，你走路必感安全，你的脚不致绊倒。	²³Then shalt thou walk confidently in thy way, and thy foot shall not stumble:
²⁴你若坐下，必无所恐惧；你若躺下，必睡得甘甜。	²⁴If thou sleep, thou shalt not fear: thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
²⁵你决不怕骤然而来的恐怖，也不怕恶人突然而至的摧残，	²⁵Be not afraid of sudden fear, nor of the power of the wicked falling upon thee.
²⁶因为上主将要护佑你，使你的脚远离陷阱。	²⁶For the Lord will be at thy side, and will keep thy foot that thou be not taken.
²⁷你若有能力作到，不要拒绝向有求于你的人行善；	²⁷Do not withhold him from doing good, who is able: if thou art able, do good thyself also.
²⁸如果你能即刻作到，不要对你的近人说：「去！明天再来，我才给你。」	²⁸Say not to thy friend: Go, and come again: and tomorrow I will give to thee: when thou canst give at present.
²⁹几时你的近人安心与你居住，你不应暗算他。	²⁹Practise not evil against thy friend, when he hath confidence in thee.
³⁰若他人没有加害你，你不应与他无端争辩。	³⁰Strive not against a man without cause, when he hath done thee no evil.
³¹不要羡慕强暴的人，更不要选择他的任何行径，	³¹Envy not the unjust man, and do not follow his ways:
³²因为上主厌恶乖戾的人，挚爱正直的人。	³²For every mocker is an abomination to the Lord, and his communication is with the simple.
³³上主诅咒恶人的住宅，祝福义人的寓所。	³³Want is from the Lord in the house of the wicked: but the habitations of the just shall be blessed.
³⁴上主嘲弄好愚弄的人，却宠爱谦卑的人。	³⁴He shall scorn the scorners, and to the meek he will give grace.
³⁵智慧的人必承受尊荣，愚昧的人必蒙受羞辱。	³⁵The wise shall possess glory: the promotion of fools is disgrace.
