| 1孩子们，要听父亲的教训，专心学习明智， | 1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend that you may know prudence. |
| 2因为我把好教训授给你们，你们不要抛弃我的规劝。 | 2I will give you a good gift, forsake not my law. |
| 3我也曾在父亲面前作过孝子，在我母亲膝下是唯一的娇儿。 | 3For I also was my father's son, tender and as an only son in the sight of my mother: |
| 4我父曾训诲我说：你应留心牢记我的话，遵守我的命令，好使你生存； | 4And he taught me, and said: Let thy heart receive my words, keep my commandments, and thou shalt live. |
| 5你应紧握智慧，握住明智，不要忘记，也不要离弃我口中的教训： | 5Get wisdom, get prudence: forget not, neither decline from the words of my mouth. |
| 6你若不舍弃她，她必护佑你；你若喜爱她，她必看顾你？ | 6Forsake her not, and she shall keep thee: love her, and she shall preserve thee. |
| 7首先应争取的是智慧，因此你应寻求智慧，应牺牲一切去争取明智。 | 7The beginning of wisdom, get wisdom, and with all thy possession purchase prudence. |
| 8你若显扬智慧，智慧也必显扬你；你若怀抱她，她也必光荣你： | 8Take hold on her, and she shall exalt thee: thou shalt be glorified by her, when thou shalt embrace her. |
| 9将华冠加在你的头上，将荣冕赐给你。 | 9She shall give to thy head increase of graces, and protect thee with a noble crown. |
| 10我儿，你若听取我的训言，你必延年益寿。 | 10Hear, O my son, and receive my words, that years of life may be multiplied to thee. |
| 11我要教给你智慧的道路，引你走上正直的途径： | 11I will shew thee the way of wisdom, I will lead thee by the paths of equity: |
| 12这样，你若行走，你的脚决不会受阻碍；即使你奔驰，也决不致颠仆。 | 12Which when thou shalt have entered, thy steps shall not be straitened, and when thou runnest thou shalt not meet a stumblingblock. |
| 13你要坚持教训，切勿把她抛弃；你应保存她，因为她是你的生命。 | 13Take hold on instruction, leave it not: keep it, because it is thy life. |
| 14恶人的道路，你不要进去；坏人的途径，你不要踏入； | 14Be not delighted in the paths of the wicked, neither let the way of evil men please thee. |
| 15反应躲避，不经其上；远远离去，绕道他往。 | 15Flee from it, pass not by it: go aside, and forsake it. |
| 16因为他们不作恶，不能入睡；不使人跌倒，就要失眠。 | 16For they sleep not except they have done evil: and their sleep is taken away unless they have made some to fall. |
| 17他们吃的是邪恶的饼，饮的是暴虐的酒。 | 17They eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of iniquity. |
| 18但是，义人的途径，像黎明的曙光，越来越明亮，直至成日中； | 18But the path of the just, as a shining light, goeth forwards and increaseth even to perfect day. |
| 19恶人的道路，却宛如幽暗，他们不知道，要跌在何处。 | 19The way of the wicked is darksome: they know not where they fall. |
| 20我儿，你要注意我的训言，侧耳倾听我的教导； | 20My son, hearken to my words, and incline thy ear to my sayings. |
| 21不要让她离开你的视线，却要牢记在心中？ | 21Let them not depart from thy eyes, keep them in the midst of thy heart: |
| 22因为，凡找着她的，必获得生命；他整个身躯，必获得健康。 | 22For they are life to those that find them, and health to all flesh. |
| 23在一切之上，你要谨守你的心，因为命是由此而生。 | 23With all watchfulness keep thy heart, because life issueth out from it. |
| 24你应摒绝口舌的欺诈，远避唇舌的乖谬。 | 24Remove from thee a froward mouth, and let detracting lips be far from thee. |
| 25你的眼睛应向前直视，你的视线应向前集中。 | 25Let thy eyes look straight on, and let thy eyelids go before thy steps. |
| 26你要修平你脚下的行径，要巩固你一切的路途。 | 26Make straight the path for thy feet, and all thy ways shall be established. |
| 27你断不可左倾右依，务使你的脚远离邪恶。 | 27Decline not to the right hand, nor to the left: turn away thy foot from evil. For the Lord knoweth the ways that are on the right hand: but those are perverse which are on the left hand. But he will make thy courses straight, he will bring forward thy ways in peace. |
