| 1有贤妻的丈夫，是有福的！他的寿数必要增加一倍。 | 1Happy is the husband of a good wife: for the number of his years is double. |
| 2有才能的妇人，是丈夫的喜乐，使他在平安中终其天年。 | 2A virtuous woman rejoiceth her husband: and shall fulfill the years of his life in peace. |
| 3有贤妇为妻，是一种福份；但是，只有敬畏上主的人，因自己的善行，才能得到她。 | 3A good wife is a good portion, she shall be given in the portion of them that fear God, to a man for his good deeds. |
| 4她不论是富是贫，心神总是快乐，时常面带笑容。 | 4Rich or poor, if his heart is good, his countenance shall be cheerful at all times. |
| 5有三件事，我心中恐惧，对第四件事，我更害怕，那就是： | 5Of three things my heart hath been afraid, and at the fourth my face hath trembled: |
| 6市民的控告，暴徒的集会， | 6The accusation of a city, and the gathering together of the people: |
| 7诬妄的诽谤：这一切比死亡更为不幸； | 7And a false calumny, all are more grievous than death. |
| 8但是，娭妒别的妇女的女人，令人心痛悲伤； | 8A jealous woman is the grief and mourning of the heart. |
| 9她向众人传话的舌头，是一条鞭子。 | 9With a jealous woman is a scourge of the tongue which communicateth with all. |
| 10恶妇有如摆动的牛轭，谁要管治她，无异是用手去捉蝎子。 | 10As a yoke of oxen that is moved to and fro, so also is a wicked woman: he that hath hold of her, is as he that taketh hold of a scorpion. |
| 11好醉酒的妇女，是大怒的原因；她的耻辱和丑态，不能隐藏。 | 11A drunken woman is a great wrath: and her reproach and shame shall not be hid. |
| 12眼波流动，是妇女淫荡的表示；从她的眉毛，可以认出。 | 12The fornication of a woman shall be known by the haughtiness of her eyes, and by her eyelids. |
| 13对无耻的女儿，你应严加管束，怕她有机可乘，就放纵起来。 | 13On a daughter that turneth not away herself, set a strict watch: lest finding an opportunity she abuse herself. |
| 14你要留心，不要顺从无耻的眼睛；否则，她若冒犯你，你就不用惊奇。 | 14Take heed of the impudence of her eyes, and wonder not if she slight thee. |
| 15就如渴了的旅客，一到了水旁，不管遇到的是什么水，就张口去喝；同样，淫妇坐在任何木桩前，向射来的箭，张开箭袋，直到她疲乏为止。 | 15She will open her mouth as a thirsty traveller to the fountain, and will drink of every water near her, and will sit down by every hedge, and open her quiver against every arrow, until she fail. |
| 16勤谨妇女的温柔，使自己的丈夫欢乐；她的明智，使丈夫的骨骼丰满。 | 16The grace of a diligent woman shall delight her husband, and shall fat his bones. |
| 17沉默寡言而明智的妇女，是上主的恩赐。 | 17Her discipline is the gift of God. |
| 18受过好教养的人，是无价之宝。 | 18Such is a wise and silent woman, and there is nothing so much worth as a well instructed soul. |
| 19圣洁而知耻的妇女，乃无上的恩赐。 | 19A holy and shamefaced woman is grace upon grace. |
| 20贞洁的灵魂，实尊贵无比。 | 20And no price is worthy of a continent soul. |
| 21在秩序井然的家庭里，贤妇的美丽，有如在上主的至高之天，上升的太阳； | 21As the sun when it riseth to the world in the high places of God, so is the beauty of a good wife for the ornament of her house. |
| 22她那健康身材上所衬托的美貌，有如神圣灯台上发光的灯； | 22As the lamp shining upon the holy candlestick, so is the beauty of the face in a ripe age. |
| 23她那双在结实脚跟上的美腿，有如银座上的金柱。 | 23As golden pillars upon bases of silver, so are the firm feet upon the soles of a steady woman. |
| 24圣妇心里的天主诫命，有如坚固磐石上的永久基础。 | 24As everlasting foundations upon a solid rock, so the commandments of God In the heart of a holy woman. |
| 25有两件事，我心中忧伤，而对第三件事，我更愤怒，那就是： | 25At two things my heart is grieved, and the third bringeth anger upon me: |
| 26战士为穷苦所困，明智人被人轻视， | 26A man of was fainting through poverty: and a man of sense despised: |
| 27离弃正义而偏向罪恶的人，上主为他准备了刀剑。 | 27And he that passeth over from justice to sin, God hath prepared such an one for the sword. |
| 28有两件事，依我看来，又难又危险，那就是：商人很难不犯罪，店员难免不失言。 | 28Two sorts of callings have appeared to me hard and dangerous: a merchant is hardly free from negligence: and a huckster shall not be justified from the sins of the lips. |
