德训篇	Sirach
¹碧空青天，是高空的美丽；苍天的景色，光耀壮观。	¹The firmament on high is his beauty, the beauty of heaven with its glorious shew.
²太阳升出，发散热气。──的确是至高者奇异的化工！	²The sun when he appeareth shewing forth at his rising, an admirable instrument, the work of the most High.
³中午的太阳烘热大地，谁能抵抗它的炎热？人吹火炉，使它生热；	³At noon he burneth the earth, and who can abide his burning heat? As one keeping a furnace in the works of heat:
⁴太阳的热，比火炉更强三倍：它烧毁山岳，放射火光，眩耀人目。	⁴The sun three times as much, burneth the mountains, breathing out fiery vapours, and shining with his beams, he blindeth the eyes.
⁵创造太阳的上主是伟大的，太阳依照他的号令，急速运行。	⁵Great is the Lord that made him, and at his words he hath hastened his course.
⁶月亮，这指明时节的永久标志，常是准时的；	⁶And the moon in all in her season, is for a declaration of times and a sign of the world.
⁷月亮，这圆而复缺的光体，节期由它来划定，	⁷From the moon is the sign of the festival day, a light that decreaseth in her perfection.
⁸月份因它而得名；它由缺而盈，极其微妙；	⁸The month is called after her name, increasing wonderfully in her perfection.
⁹它是高天军旅的灯塔，在天空照耀。	⁹Being an instrument of the armies on high, shining gloriously in the Armament of heaven.
¹⁰繁星的光芒，造成天空的美丽，它们是上主高天上的灿烂装饰；	¹⁰The glory of the stars is the beauty of heaven; the Lord enlighteneth the world on high.
¹¹它们遵照圣者的号令，执行任务，看守黑夜，总不疲倦。	¹¹By the words of the holy one they shall stand in judgment, and shall never fail in their watches.
¹²你看见虹霓，就当赞美它的创造者；它的光彩极其灿烂。	¹²Look upon the rainbow, and bless him that made it: it is very beautiful in its brightness.
¹³它用光辉的弧形环绕天空，至高者的手，将它伸长。	¹³It encompasseth the heaven about with the circle of its glory, the hands of the most High have displayed it.
¹⁴天主一命令，雪花即迅速降下；天主一决定，电光就急速闪烁。	¹⁴By his commandment he maketh the snow to fall apace, and sendeth forth swiftly the lightnings of his judgment.
¹⁵为此，仓库一开启，云雾就像群鸟飞翔而出。	¹⁵Through this are the treasures opened, and the clouds fly out like birds.
¹⁶他以自己的大能，使云凝结，冰雹如碎石落下。	¹⁶By his greatness he hath fixed the clouds, and the hailstones are broken.
¹⁷他一出现，山岳动摇；他的雷声，震撼大地；	¹⁷At his sight shall the mountains be shaken, and at his will the south wind shall blow.
¹⁸他一愿意，南风吹起，北风怒号，旋风滚动。	¹⁸The noise of his thunder shall strike the earth, so doth the northern storm, and the whirlwind:
¹⁹他使雪片飞落，有如群鸟飞下；雪片降落，又如飞蝗落下。	¹⁹And as the birds lighting upon the earth, he scattereth snow, and the falling thereof, is as the coming down of locusts.
²⁰它那皎洁的丽光，令人眼花目眩；雨雪霏霏，使人心中赞赏。	²⁰The eye admireth at the beauty of the whiteness thereof, and the heart is astonished at the shower thereof.
²¹天主又倾撒冰霜，仿佛是撒盐，掩盖大地；霜一凝结，竖立有如针尖。	²¹He shall pour frost as salt upon the earth: and when it freezeth, it shall become like the tops of thistles.
²²寒冷的北风一吹，整个水面都凝结成冰，仿佛使水穿上了盔甲。	²²The cold north wind bloweth, and the water is congealed into crystal; upon every gathering together of waters it shall rest, and shall clothe the waters as a breastplate.
²³天主如火一样，吞没山岳，烧焦旷野，焚毁青草。	²³And it shall devour the mountains, and burn the wilderness, and consume all that is green as with fire.
²⁴补救这一切灾祸的，只有及时的云雾；甘露一降，即使暑气顿消。	²⁴A present remedy of all is the speedy coming of a cloud, and a dew that meeteth it, by the heat that cometh, shall overpower it.
²⁵他一发令，风即停止；他一计议，深渊遂即沉没，其中的岛屿于是突出。	²⁵At his word the wind is still, and with his thought he appeaseth the deep, and the Lord hath planted islands therein.
²⁶航海的人，述说海中的危险，我们听见，都感觉惊奇；	²⁶Let them that sail on the sea, tell the dangers thereof: and when we hear with our ears, we shall admire.
²⁷在海里有奇特惊异的化工，有各种兽类、生物和海怪。	²⁷There are great and wonderful works: a variety of beasts, and of all living things, and the monstrous creatures of whales.
²⁸依靠天主而过海的人，必能安然渡过，因为一切的事，都是依照他的号令而措施的。	²⁸Through him is established the end of their journey, and by his word all things are regulated.
²⁹我们述说了许多，但总是辞不达义，总结一句：他是万有。	²⁹We shall say much, and yet shall want words: but the sum of our words is, He is all.
³⁰为颂扬他，我们能做什么？因为他是伟大的，他超越他的一切化工。	³⁰What shall we be able to do to glorify him? for the Almighty himself is above all his works.
³¹他是可敬可畏，极其伟大的上主；他的德能是非常奇异的。	³¹The Lord is terrible, and exceeding great, and his power is admirable.
³²虽然你们尽力颂扬上主，但仍不能相称他的伟大；他的庄严，是奇妙的。	³²Glorify the Lord as much as ever you can, for he will yet far exceed, and his magnificence is wonderful.
³³当你们赞颂上主时，要尽力称扬他，因为他超越一切的赞美。	³³Blessing the Lord, exalt him as much as you can: for he is above all praise.
³⁴你们称扬他，要用尽你们的力量，不要厌倦，因为你们赞扬，总不能恰如其分。	³⁴When you exalt him put forth all your strength, and be not weary: for you can never go far enough.
³⁵谁见了他而能描述？谁能以他自始所应得的赞美，来赞美他？	³⁵Who shall see him, and declare him? and who shall magnify him as he is from the beginning?
³⁶比这更神妙的事，还有很多，因为我们所见的，不过是他化工中的极少数。	³⁶There are many things hidden from us that are greater than these: for we have seen but a few of his works.
³⁷上主造成了万物，并赐给虔敬人智慧。	³⁷But the Lord hath made all things, and to the godly he hath given wisdom.
