| 1此后，在达味时代，兴起了一位纳堂先知。 | 1Then Nathan the prophet arose in the days of David. |
| 2从以色列子民中，选出的达味，有如由和平祭的肉中，提出的脂肪。 | 2And as the fat taken away from the flesh, so was David chosen from among the children of Israel. |
| 3他年轻时玩弄狮子，有如玩弄山羊；戏弄野熊，如同戏弄羔羊。 | 3He played with lions as with lambs: and with bears he did in like manner as with the lambs of the flock, in his youth. |
| 4他年轻时，不是击杀了大力士，雪洗了民族的耻辱， | 4Did not he kill the giant, and take away reproach from his people? |
| 5不是一举手，用套带的石子，打倒了哥肋雅的傲慢么？ | 5In lifting up his hand, with the stone in the sling he beat down the boasting of Goliath: |
| 6因为他事前，曾呼求了至高者上主，上主就赐他右手有力，以击杀勇猛的战士，为高举自己百姓的角。 | 6For he called upon the Lord the Almighty, and he gave strength in his right hand, to take away the mighty warrior, and to set up the horn of his nation. |
| 7所以处女们向他歌唱，称扬他克胜了万人；大家都以上主的祝福称扬他，给他戴上荣耀的冠冕。 | 7So in ten thousand did he glorify him, and praised him in the blessings of the Lord, in offering to him a crown of glory: |
| 8他击溃了四周的仇敌，剿灭了对手培肋舍特人，直到今日还不断地挫折他们的角。 | 8For he destroyed the enemies on every side, and extirpated the Philistines the adversaries unto this day: he broke their horn for ever. |
| 9他以自己的一切行为感谢圣者，以赞扬的词句歌颂至高者； | 9In all his works he gave thanks to the holy one, and to the most High, with words of glory. |
| 10他全心歌颂及爱慕创造者，即那赐他能力抵抗仇敌的天主。 | 10With his whole heart he praised the Lord, and loved God that made him: and he gave him power against his enemies: |
| 11他叫人在祭坛前歌咏奏乐，以优美的声音，唱出悦耳的歌曲，每日按时歌唱圣咏。 | 11And he set singers before the altar, and by their voices he made sweet melody. |
| 12他增加了庆节的盛况，使庆典隆重壮观，使赞美上主圣名的声音，从清晨就向彻圣殿。 | 12And to the festivals he added beauty, and set in order the solemn times even to the end of his life, that they should praise the holy name of the Lord, and magnify the holiness of God in the morning. |
| 13上主赦免了他的罪过，永远高举了他的角，与他立了为王的盟约，使他在以色列获得光荣的宝座。 | 13The Lord took away his sins, and exalted his horn for ever: and he gave him a covenant of the kingdom, and a throne of glory in Israel. |
| 14继达味兴起了一位明智的儿子，他因了父亲的缘故，生活很安适。 | 14After him arose up a wise son, and for his sake he cast down all the power of the enemies. |
| 15撒罗满为王时，正当太平时代，天主使四周安宁，为叫他给自己的圣名，建立一座殿宇，预备一个永远的圣所。撒罗满啊！你年轻时，是何等聪明！ | 15Solomon reigned in days of peace, and God brought all his enemies under him, that he might build a house in his name, and prepare a sanctuary for ever: O how wise wast thou in thy youth! |
| 16你洋溢智慧，有如江河；你的精神笼罩大地； | 16And thou wast filled as a river with wisdom, and thy soul covered the earth. |
| 17你用含有寓意的箴言，广传于大地；你的名声传至辽远的岛屿；因你的和平，人人都喜爱你； | 17And thou didst multiply riddles in parables: thy name went abroad to the islands far off, and thou wast beloved in thy peace. |
| 18因你的诗歌、箴言、寓言，你赢得了天下万邦的赞叹； | 18The countries wondered at thee for thy canticles, and proverbs, and parables, and interpretations, |
| 19因上主天主的名，即因称为以色列的天主的名， | 19And at the name of the Lord God, whose surname is, God of Israel. |
| 20你积金如锡，蓄银似铅。 | 20Thou didst gather gold as copper, and didst multiply silver as lead, |
| 21此后，你将你的腰委诸妇女，让她们霸占你的身体； | 21And thou didst bow thyself to women: and by thy body thou wast brought under subjection. |
| 22你玷污了你的尊荣，凌辱了你的床笫，给你的子孙召来了义怒；让他们慨叹你的愚昧！ | 22Thou hast stained thy glory, and defiled thy seed so as to bring wrath upon thy children, and to have thy folly kindled, |
| 23从此国家分裂为二，从厄弗辣因兴起了一个叛乱的王国。 | 23That thou shouldst make the kingdom to be divided, and out of Ephraim a rebellious kingdom to rule. |
| 24但是上主决不放弃自己的仁慈，不破坏，也不废弃自己的任何工作，不灭绝自己所选者的子孙，不铲除敬爱上主的苗裔； | 24But God will not leave off his mercy, and he will not destroy, nor abolish his own works, neither will he out up by the roots the offspring of his elect: and he will not utterly take away the seed of him that loveth the Lord. |
| 25他赐给雅各伯一个余子，赐给达味一个由他发出的苗裔。 | 25Wherefore he gave a remnant to Jacob, and to David of the same stock. |
| 26撒罗满终于与他的祖先长眠。 | 26And Solomon had an end with his fathers. |
| 27身后从他后裔中，留下了一个人民中最愚昧无知， | 27And he left behind him of his seed, the folly of the nation, |
| 28用自己的计谋，使百姓造反的勒哈贝罕， | 28Even Roboam that had little wisdom, who turned away the people through his counsel: |
| 29和一个引以色列犯罪，给厄弗辣因开犯罪之路的乃巴特之子雅洛贝罕。他们二人都恶贯满盈， | 29And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who caused Israel to sin, and shewed Ephraim the way of sin, and their sins were multiplied exceedingly. |
| 30人就把他们逐出本国。 | 30They removed them far away from their land. |
| 31他们企图犯各种罪恶，直至惩罚临到他们身上为止。最后天主又从各种罪恶中救出他们。 | 31And they sought out all iniquities, till vengeance came upon them, and put an end to all their sins. |
