| 1万望你是我的兄弟，吮过我母亲的乳房，好叫我在外边遇见你时，能亲吻你，而不致受人轻视。 | 1Who shall give thee to me for my brother, sucking the breasts of my mother, that I may find thee without, and kiss thee, and now no man may despise me? |
| 2我要引领你走进我母亲的家，进入怀孕我者的内室；给你喝调香的美酒，石榴的甘酿。 | 2I will take hold of thee, and bring thee Into my mother's house: there thou shalt teach me, and I will give thee a cup of spiced wine and new wine of my pomegranates. |
| 3他的左手在我头下，他的右手紧抱着我。 | 3His left hand under my head, and his right hand shall embrace me. |
| 4耶路撒冷女郎！我恳求你们，不要惊醒，也不要唤醒我的爱，让她自便罢！ | 4I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you stir not up, nor awake my love till she please. |

| 6请将我有如印玺，放在你的心上，有如印玺，放在你肩上，因为爱情猛如死亡，妒爱顽如阴府：它的焰是火焰，是上主的火燄。 | 6Put me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thy arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy as hard as hell, the lamps thereof are fire and flames. |
| 7洪流不能熄灭爱情，江河不能将它冲去，如有人献出全副家产想购买爱情，必受人轻视。 | 7Many waters cannot quench charity, neither can the floods drown it: if a man should give all the substance of his house for love, he shall despise it as nothing. |
| 8我们的妹妹尚小，还没有乳房；到了她议婚之日，为我们的妹妹，我们将作什么？ | 8Our sister is little, and hath no breasts. What shall we do to our sister in the day when she is to be spoken to? |
| 9她若是墙，我们就在上面建造银垛；她若是门，我们就用香柏木闩来关锁。 | 9If she be a wall: let us build upon it bulwarks of silver: if she be a door, let us join it together with boards or cedar. |
| 10我是一道墙，我的乳房如同塔。我在他眼里，实如获得和平的女郎。 | 10I am a wall: and my breasts are as a tower since I am become in his presence as one finding peace. |
| 11撒罗满在巴耳哈孟有个葡萄园，他将这葡萄园委托给看守的人；每人为园中的果子，应交一千两银子。 | 11The peaceable had a vineyard, in that which hath people: he let out the same to keepers, every man bringeth for the fruit thereof a thousand pieces of silver. |
| 12那属我的葡萄园，就在我面前；撒罗满！一千两银子归你，二百两归看守果子的人。 | 12My vineyard is before me. A thousand are for thee, the peaceable, and two hundred for them that keep the fruit thereof. |
| 13你这住在果园中的女郎，愿你使我听到你的声音！同伴们都在等候细听。 | 13Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the friends hearken: make me hear thy voice. |
| 14我的爱人！愿你仿效郁香山上的羚羊或幼鹿，赶快跑来！ | 14Flee away, O my beloved, and be like to the roe, and to the young hart upon the mountains of aromatical spices. |

4寓意 如同在「默示录」里，末世的预言常有重复，却也常有演进：「雅歌」的题目亦然。在这一幕内，最大的演进是8:1-3一段。新娘（天主的百姓）用这些话，表示她如何切盼上主可见的来临，希望他在默西亚的身上藉人性亲自显现，成为「厄玛奴耳」（「天主与我们同在」，依7:14; 8:8）。她盼望天主取人性成为她可见的哥哥和净配，而她则为新娘，为妹妹。总而言之，这热诚的新娘，是在渴望天主圣子降生。 |

14寓意 按希3:7-4:13，和新约其他经书的记载，以民经过旷野的路程，是新约信徒在世生活的预像。进入许地，则是象征天主的子民进入永远的安息：只有在这永远的安息中，教会对天主和基督的爱情才能成为齐全纯洁的，才能获圆的享受（默19:6,7; 20:9）。但为获得这圆满的福分，新娘该等待耶稣默西亚的第二次来临；暂时她还应在各种患难及试探中，藉信仰和希望的生活，证实自己忠贞的爱，以诚挚热烈的爱，渴望等待净配的来临：「主耶稣，你来罢！」（默22:20）。 |
